CF, when can we get a DRM free version of SB? I think it's time.

    Seriously, we've waited long enough. What say guys?

    Now, before everyone jumps in here and says that SB is DRM free, understand this: The game will not run if you do not have Steam installed on your system. That is not DRM free. My second machine I use does not have Steam installed and SB will not run. (and installing Steam everywhere I wish to play SB is not an option)

    It's quite simple. We were promised a DRM free version of the game on release. It looks to me like SB will never actually reach 1.0, but will instead be endlessly updated forever (which I have no problem with), so please CF, let's have it please?

    The game will absolutely run without steam installed, and is DRM free. You only need steam to install the game, because steam is used for distribution. The game itself doesn't care if you have steam running or even installed. After you've installed it through steam on one computer you can just copy the game folder to another one.

    My understanding is that they're still reliant on Steam for easy and universal delivery of updates. Since the game is still very much in development, the updates are still coming. Once things are more complete, then you can expect this to come back onto their radar.

    This isn't happening until release at the earliest. And keep in mind there is a need for updates, on whatever ports its on. So it needs something to check for updates.

    What it looks like to you is not the same as what is actually going on.
