I like the idea, but my problem with what you have is that you don't have anything. Could you maybe expand on this with some history and culture? I'd love to see that. It sounds like space travel came to them quite suddenly during a "golden age" of piracy.

 

Maybe when they were invaded by glitch, they stole a ship and managed to adapt it to a pirate ship (ship texture idea alert) and fly around in it.

 

You should also do some ship art, considering that the ship could be shaped like a pirate ship with sails.

And btw, this ship would probably take over from the hylotl/glitch or maybe just as good as them as favourite, because EVERYONE LOVES PIRATE SHIPSL!!
