Cave Generation?

Hi, I recently got back into starbound after a few months, and my one gripe/question is when will Cave generation be better? I mean, the caves we have currently are miserable, ESPECIALLY the surface ones. I would also like to see massive caves, or even underground dungeons. Currently underground is super boring.

Hmmmmm...... Starting to wish I was a moderator right now. Or maybe I don't... Hmm.... It's all about perspective, I guess.

Anyway, TC, the nightlies have improved cave generation.

The nightly version is said to be going out to the unstable build sometime this month, and then expected to be updated to stable sometime in or around January.

 

Is it that hard to keep it on-topic?

I've just had to hand out two warnings.

 

I take it that method isn't in yet? - The shapes of caves in daily have certainly changed since I last played(I last played stable), but the caves I've found so far don't look nearly as intresting as those example caves. In fact I've had a lot of trouble locating reasonably sized caves at all, requiring quite a lot of digging, many "caves" are nothing but 1-2 block wide seams.

 

It seems like the more robust caves are a bit deeper. This sort of thing is pretty common on one of the moons I found:

There were some better ones, but I'd already drained all the liquid erchius from them.
