Feedback Catching friendly creature

Hi,
I spotted black cat in some village - I can't catch using critter pod however nor kill it (He's like villagers - untargetable).
Is this how it is suppose to be?
Can I kill neutral creature - like Fluffalo or Villager?

 

A very good question. I tried exactly the same, but without success. Thought I might catch a friend for my ship cat...

 

Try throwing a molotov at it, or a bomb. It works well to anger the peaceful citizens

 

uh, I through a capture pod at a dog and it worked. maybe you missed? you gotta be pretty accurate.

 

Dear lord it was possible - I was checking interaction and I've killed him .
Damn

Possibly he was the last black cat in whole galaxy.
