I love lizardfolk! The name definitely needs some work. Since they love to learn, why not make them a scholarly race instead of a barbaric race? Instead of copying other cultures, they should have one of their own.
So tribal creatures, brutal creatures that have their technology copied from other species? Not trying to be a jerk, but sounds a bit like florans. Florans, but instead of being plants, they are lizards.
how bout the name now? also, it's not that they particularly like to learn, they are just good at it. they have no interest in bettering their life beyond being comfortable (if they had a basic chair, they would have no interest in buying a lazy boy). also their ship is a unique combo of human and glitch, with unique items to be fit their psychology (ex. Functional door: It works, What else do you need? Functional light: it makes light, not much else to it.)
Author note: I changed the tribal to /communist because so many people where pointing out that there already is one, however i feel the need to point out tribalism is not a time/technological period, but is in fact system much like communism in that every one has a role in the community and fulfill it simply because it is there role. e.x. the hunter is confident he will have clothing because the seamstress will make it, and the seamstress will have food because the hunter got it. no money changes hands, there is no real calculated trade it is simply their job so they do it.
sorry for taking so long to get back. Interestingly enough their primary exports are rubium and coal, so you would think impurvium right? nope, iron. because of the strength of both themselves and the wild life, copper was so easily pierced that it wasn't even worth the weight, but iron worked well enough. they figured problem solved, so they never got around to even trying rubium for forging until they saw humans with it.
These guys are pretty rad, and by far, the best looking lizard-esque race I've seen for Starbound. Needs to be a thing. +1 CHIRP
