I would Love to see a system in game where enemies have a chance of Dropping "Their" card which contains a portrait of them and when slotted into equipment modifies it. This system existed in Ragnarok online and i have to say it gave me an even greater reason to hunt down enemies especially the rare ones. The drop rate was rather low which made it even more exciting when you saw a card drop. I feel this mechanic could work for Starbound because there is already the Journal in mind that will catalog what you have seen / fought, the card system could be a miniature version of that with the end goal to be finding rare monsters and getting their card to drop so you can put it on your rife and make it fire 2 projectiles forked instead of just one.
I assume they wont get that Far. There is already Creature Capture and Taming, that's awesome enough!
I do agree that is awesome however this is a very different mechanic and focuses on a different system.
