Bug/Issue Capture pods won't release pets

Whenever I have a capture pod equipped I can't move my character's arm to aim. The capsule itself can be thrown and catches creatures with no problem, but whenever I try to release the monster inside nothing happens. I've tried creating a new save file and uninstalling mods but the problem continues.

Please tell me if there's any more information I should provide, I'm still relatively new at this.
