First off this game is so amazing and your (dev team) dedication to this game is so very clear both in just the quality of this beta release as well as your amazing support (day 1 patch AND update?! I think some people take for granted you guys are human beings with human needs). For instance, I can see now that Tiy, the lead designer, is online and looking through these forums and I don't know that I've seen that kind of information so prominently displayed on a game devs forum before. Anyway, my suggestion is some kind of Captains log to encourage (but not force) players to log their adventures in whatever way works for them (some kind of basic MS word like editor, or even paint). I think this will help with keeping track of coordinates of cool planets as well as just journaling your adventures through space I'm thinking it could be a static object (like your fuel UI thing and ship locker) next to the navigation console? Or maybe even a craftable item you can carry around with you (actually that would be epic). If you could also take a screenshot of your game and store it within pages of your journal I think it would also encourage storytelling and strengthen the overall community of this wonderful game.
