One of my absolute favorite parts is just exploring the universe, digging around to see what kind of layers the planet is made of, whats on there, what kind of planet it is. The problem is I can't really remember where I've been, and didn't write down the coordinates. Even if I had the coordinates, I don't think I would remember all the special features of the planet, like villages, temples, tombs, biomes. If possible, I'd like to have a small text field where I could enter data about the planet on the navigation screen, a sort of 'Captian's Log' of where I've been and what I found (i.e. "Second layer down is white brick, money containers shaped like houses with faces for some bizarre reason"). If we could also rename the planets in the book, that would be amazing! The log would keep your notes as well as coordinates and name. It would be neat to be able to rename the planet and solar system on private shared servers, but that's probably trickier. Thanks for reading!
Slightly different from the other one I liked that was similar to this. That actually sounds like a decent idea. Like the other one, whether it would be part of the character file, ship file or a separate file would be where this kind of info gets saved. Possibly though since this is actually changing view data on the planet/solar itself it could be a change in the planetary files, that way if the system is renamed it could be viewed by all as being renamed on a server. After all the game only uses 1 set of Universe files far as I know, which is the directory of Universe and its' contents. The log though might be per character however, as a separate thing entirely. 1. being the planet/solar in question details, hence being able to rename as well add small bits of info. 2. The log in which tells you coordinates and have the original name in () while the rename is in front, with what ever description you decide to put. I believe that might be a possible way for it to work as a whole, or at least one way.
