Bug/Issue Can't use items

I'm running the GOG version of the game. I'm on day 10 of the first spring and when I wake up I can use items just fine inside the house, but when I go outside the blacksmith comes to give me blueprints for the forge and after the cutscene I can't use items by left-clicking on the ground.

I rolled to an earlier version of the game using GOG's rollback feature and after doing so I could use items normally.
