Closed Can't Start Game On Mac!

Hey, I'm a Mac user and I'm unable to even start the game. Anybody else having this problem, and/or any fix to it?

What type of error message is it giving you (if any)?

 

It's not giving me anything, it just refuses to start up. If I click play on steam, the penguin logo appears in my dock but then almost immediately disappears.

 

Can you try running your starbound.app from it's program file located in your steamapps folder, rather than using steam as the bootstrap?

Same here! and i read 2 or 3 post saying same

 

Let's make sure Starbound has everything it needs to run correctly:

1. Open Steam and find Starbound in your game library
2. Right click and choose Properties
   
3. See where it says Enable Steam Community In-Game? Go ahead and uncheck that
4. Then click the Local Files tab
5. Click Veryify Integrity of Game Cache... and let this run
6. Once this is complete you can close the Properties window
7. Fire up Starbound and let's see what type of error message we get, if any

 

i do that 3 or 4 times, no message.

i see penguin 2 o 3 seconds and dissapear.

(im spanish, sorry for my english)

 

and i need to say, today i play starbound all day, and no problems, but now dont start (again srry for my english xD)

 

if you are using osx mountain lion or lower there is no 10.8.0 update which you need to run starbound

 

Welp, same problem here on OSX Mavericks, it did worked earlier tho, now when I try to open the game (from Steam, from its folder) the penguin logo shows up on dock, then almost inmediately dissapears.

 

Also having this issue. Bummer!
