    I made the window itself as big as I can, but I wanted to make it full screen because maybe that will make it run a bit better (I get random frame drops and in the outpost it slows to like 10fps or lower) and this happens (see image). Sigh.

    Go to your starbound directory, choose an exe you normally use.
    Right click --> properties
    Comparability settings --> Disable High DPI settings.

    Can't find "Comparability settings" tried with the launcher itself, and the one in my steam library. I actually did manage to make it go full screen normally though, had to mess around with the resolution settings (before it was like, twice my monitor resolution)

    I never mentioned the word launcher once.
    Please re-read the instructions.

    Compatibility settings is on a tab in the properties window

    It isn't there. I would post a screenshot, but it won't let me. Where "compatibility" is in your screenshot, mine says "Web Document"

    I'm using Windows 7 too with the same update as you, and I found it using @The | Suit screenshot.

    Follow this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win32 ans select Starbound. Nothing else. Right click it and press Properties.

    You should find the Compatibility there.

    Okay I found it. but the ''compatibility" tab was only on the opengl launcher for some reason.
