   I've been doing quests for an avian guard in a village for a while now, still no one that wants to be recruited, is there something specific I have to do for recruits to start popping up? like doing quests for non-guards? Plus, if you know any way to get crew members easily please tell me.

   Doing quests for someone doesn't guarantee you can recruit them as far as I know. I've found that normally they'll say something about wanting adventure or exploring the stars if you can eventually recruit them.
   
   The easiest way to get crew is probably recruiting the penguins from the Beak Easy.
