Can't find game/character file

    Steam wasn't working so I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but now I am unable to find my character when I open Starbound. Whenever I start the game and go to the list of characters, my character doesn't show up. Is there a way I can get my character back?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

    The character and universe files are saved within the starbound install. When you uninstalled the game your files most likely got deleted.

    Shucks that's unfortunate :(
    Do you know of any possible way I could recover the files? If not it's okay, thank you for your help!
