Can you reach the Sky?

Hello,

i wishes to start a Community Project. Build a Tower and Post Screen(s) here from each Section (i dont think its possible get a HUGE Tower in one screen).

Rules:

-The Tower must have a Background (right mouseclick with Blocks you know)

-You must be able to reach the top by normal movement

-Decorate him a bit

-one Door on the Ground a Spawner would be nice but not a must

-Some Windows its on you how much

-The Tower must reach as sayd above THE SKY...that means 3 Screens minimum

-a minni dungeon (its on you again how Big but do not forget the ultimate goal is to build up)


I was afraid about every Posted Screens and comments.

3 screens is hardly a challenge at 4x zoom on 1024x768. Heck, it's not that much of a challenge at 2x zoom and 2560x1440. Now up to the asteroids, that would be a challenge.

 

This 3 Screen rule should only prevent the tower is too small. I personally have a resolution of 1280x1024 2x zoom.

I've been planning to do this these last days, but I havent had the time to play enough tho.
I was thinking in something along the lines of the tower Finn builds in the episode "The Tower" of Adventure Time.
Kind of simple but heavy on the emotional side with diferent layers and decorations that in a way would reflect on the builder state of mind at the moment of construction.

I'm leaving on a trip for the next week so I wont be able to play but I'll be taking notes of different ideas and landscapes so I can get to work when I get back.

I'll be starting a topic on the screenshot subforums to let you guys follow the construction and emotional climb of the character, and of course to receive feedback and thoughts.

 

That's an interesting suggestion.
I already have a tower on a Volcanic planet but it's very short.
Now I know what I'll do when I'm bored.

Nice Picture i thought the same from my Tower maybe a midleage Tower or each Section a different setting. 1. Middle age 2. Modern etc..

Yes i hoped some players join so we can see nice Towers, funny Feedback and have all a nice time building a Tower. I search a nice Planet for that and tend between Lush, Ocean and Snow Planets but i think i choose a Lush one for my Tower.

 

I built a Stairway as high as possible and then built a party shack on an asteroid.

But Where is the Tower?!?

 

My bad, there is no tower. There is a staircase to the right of the house that leads back to the surface of the planet.

I thought someone was wondering how to get to the top of the map.

 

Here, I just built this. It's not complete, but it's really tall. Note the asteroid to the left of the tower. I think it has about 35,000 cobblestone bricks in it. I had the cobblestone laying around on an old planet I terraformed. I have no idea how to take a pic of the entire thing, not that it matters. The whole tower looks exactly like what you see there. Took about 2 hours minutes to build because I kept falling to my death and had to climb up the thing again and again.



I'm gonna go back over the thing and put in windows, lighting, decorations etc... I might even build a castle at the very top.

Now I need to go be productive.

Nice Tower, i work myself on my Tower last night. I have the Tower done and the Dungeon, i only must decorate him and then i can post the screens. Oh and yes i fall down too often lol...
I plan add later a Garden around the Tower and a Small Village.

 

OK, The tower has windows and lighting and reaches the top of the planet's atmosphere. It is about 2300 bricks tall. There's a deep pool at the bottom so you can drop all the way from the top and survive the fall. I made the mini dungeon on an asteroid to the left of the tower and built a string of asteroids that you have to jump across to get to it. I loaded the chest with a lot of good/ top tier items. I'm going to add decorations to the tower, but I need to figure out a placement scheme to keep it consistent.

The tower is attached to the cobblestone foundation of the castle I'm building. Currently there is just a moat with a drawbridge leading to the tower and within the castle walls (which the tower is a part of) there is a storage room and a workshop. I'm eventually going to build a space station up there, but I don't have the supplies yet. I might just use admin mode to get the blocks.

Cool I NEVER get the idea build a home inside a Asteroid.
TAG your name? Simple, after i write around 70% of your name the Forum autofill the rest in Blue Text and voila, i do nothing myself.^^

That's the base of the tower on the right of the screen. There's a deep pool of water at the bottom so you can fall all the way from the top of the tower and survive.

Cool. I like the parapets at the top of the tower and how the whole structure narrows as it rises up.

Where you found the Blocks for that nice Stones on the Wall in the last Picture with all the Tables and the Blocks around the Windows?
The Dungeon looks cool....

 

The white bricks can be found in the walls of Glitch villager homes and all over the place in Avian villages. Avian villages are the best source I've found. Before Upbeat Giraffe you could find those bricks underground sometimes, but I haven't found them since the update.

The golden blocks are from avian temples.
