Can we not be able to kill NPCs on the ship, please?

I'd also like it if other players were unable to interact with nor build anything in other players' ships.

I think in tier 3, on the robotic crafting table. It's like Steel + Pixels or something like that.

You can craft guards and normal villagers.

I had a guard once... He died on the starter world..He had a machine gun. I'm hoarding spawners till the npcs from them become just a tad more resilient or spawners become more common. it's kind of a pain to make them invincible only on your ship, and op to have it everywhere so how about this? instead, make the ship proper a no weapons zone? It is a complex and sensitive pressure sealed tube that keeps the death away, mayyyyybe we shouldn't be firing our guns and mountain breaking bone weapons inside...

 

I hope the spawners are a temporary system, personally. Not only is it fairly random, but it's pretty unthematic too. How do you get new crew members or villagers for your base? Why, you craft them or find them in chests, of course!

 

It's possible to craft a villager spawner.

I feel your pain. I made a chef and had a quick look at what he could sell me. I got so excited I forgot I was holding my sword and the poor chef died. I never got to buy anything...
The second npc... well I needed someone to test the brain extractor on... he was close.

I would also like to have a way to not kill my shipmates accidentally. I think interrupting attacks on respawn would be sufficient.

 

Could make the npcs invincible but when you talk to them have a Fire button with a yes or no promp, that way no accidental death.

 

I am writing up a "recipes mod" to make them craftable for the same cost as the other spawners. This way you can craft a Doctor, Stim, Tools, Chef, Villager, Pirate, or Guard, or Wizard spawner. I've got the files, but I need to package them.

Right now, making an ugly wooden box on your ship somewhere and putting spawners in it seems to do the job of keeping them alive, unless you close range with a Bone hammer.

I know that feel bro... Once upon a time, I had a chef on my ship, and I decided to craft a couple of new swords. After crafting, I pulled them out and made the mistake of swinging them... It's not hard to figure out what happened next.
