Can we haz update?

No 9th or 10th update so far

I haz an itch that can't be scratched!

 

I'm pretty sure they haven't updated yet because they (as stated in the last update I believe) are doing the same old stuff and working on the same thing.

I'm sure once they move on to something else we will hear about it.

 

Nope. I'd rather they spent time working instead of fueling the forum fire.

 

Lol, good point flamingfirewarrior, good point. As someone who doesn't flame the forums I often forget that poignant fact.

 

They could at least let us know that they are taking a break from doing dailies.

Somehow I cannot imagine it to be difficult to write up little list of things that got done during the day. Few minutes max at the end of the day aint gonna delay the game.



I am just kinda worried when devs drop communications so significantly with little or not warning.

 

Yeah no, instead let the fire rage out of control as you introduce daily updates for a while and then stop doing them.

Not that I personally care, but if you think there will be a more positive response to a lack of an update you're in for a surprise.

 

To tell you the truth, the updates have stopped before. Some people was afraid, and some people speculated that the lack of updates is due to the beta closing to completion. I hope the updates will start again, but the devs are not obligated to do them.

 

To be honest, I think missing a day or two really isn't a big deal. It's starting to show that they can't really constantly keep up to doing it every day, due to being busy. It's not a bad thing if a day or two is missed.

 

I'm not saying they are obligated, but that it wouldn't be a good idea.

Agreed. Though I do hope either for the updates to resume like old times, or I sincerely hope for the forum to live life just like before. I'm sure there's a good reason for the devs to have stopped the update; oh well, I doubt I can stop the floodwater even if I try; let come what may is what I say.

 

I love updates, so long as it doesn't detract from the actual development process! The second it does, I can go without them.

 

I figure they'll do an update when there's something genuinely interesting to talk about, like when a new feature is finished and such.

As a lot of people stated previously, there's not much point to them making a daily update when all they have to say most days is "we fixed a bug with [insert feature we've already seen]" It's important work, just not interesting enough to warrant an update.

 

I hate to admit it, but ever since they started doing the daily updates a few months ago, I'd made it part of my nightly routine. I'd always get a nice little charge out of reading the update before I went to bed.

While I can totally understand why they might not always do them every single day... I... I still miss them. Damn it Chucklefish, how am I supposed to sleep?!

 

That I can empathize with. I feel like the Daily Updates are what really sold the game for me.

I first heard of the game mentioned in passing in a youtube video that talked about Terraria-related news. When I found the site I looked through three or four updates before realizing that I would want to buy the game. The fact that they were rolling out cool new stuff every single day was just amazing to me.

I realize that now that the Beta draws near things might slow down a bit as they start to refine what's already there, but I'm still going to miss the feeling I got from reading the updates every morning.

 

They have mentioned that they may miss a day or 2 on the updates because they are pushing to release the beta ASAP and are putting smaller things like the daily update on the sideline. They'll update when they have the chance.

 

A mundane update would at least cease the incessant speculation that usually happens to fill the grey areas here. Lack of information has always started the fires here, even if they aren't obligated to post them.

 

Then you'll hear people saying the updates are lame and lacking info, it's a vicious cycle.
