can they hire Rick and Morty people and make some characters

    if not any mods for this cuz it would be great to have an item that could save say 100 locations and you could just be like bam and hav up to 5 portals open at once

    This is probably something for a mod. While there are easter eggs with nods to other franchises, they don't just rip items straight from another IP.

    Yeah, it's a tall order to hire people just to add some minor content like that. Waste of time and money, when you can just be original and add your own content.

    The hiring costs of that kind of artist might be more than the current budget.. Not might, I'm sure of it.

    It's not financially possible, -if- anyone would even ask them -if- they would want to do it.
