Can I recover from troll friends?

My buddy took a propeller from an avian airship and placed it in my ship on the spawn point. Every time I regenerate, I immediately die. Is there a way to respawn somewhere else or reset the ship interior? Or is that character slot hosed?

On the plus side, the great reset won't really do much to me now.

 

you can reset your ship to remove the propeller, but you'll lose anything you've stored/built on the ship. go to your starbound folder, then player, then delete the ship data file. the upside is this doesn't delete your universe, or your character itself, just your ship and everything on/in your ship.

 

Personally I would get new friends.

Excellent. I had a lot of stuff on the ship, but most of the good stuff was on my home world (because I knew he'd troll me).

 

I think they were just trying to make the ship more aerodynamic.

 

That's no excuse for senseless pixelated violence.

 

Haha, I thought about this earlier. Hilarious at first but completely disabling the ability to play the game for other people is a little too brutal for my tastes. Really, the ship needs a minor overhaul. It needs to be impossible to interact with anything in a friend's ship besides cosmetic stuff like chairs and beds, the owner needs to be able to eject other people, hazardous items that deal damage should be banned within a radius of the spawn portal, and use of transit tech (primarily blink) should be disabled on board since people can teleport outside the ship and build things around the ships.

Try going to Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets\objects\avian , rename the propeller folder into something else, then start the game and remove stuff.

You can also try backing up the propeller folder, opening propeller.object in wordpad and changing "damage" : 99999 to "damage" : 0 then enter single player and remove it, then save & quit and restore the propeller folder with your backup.

IDK if it works.
