Can I get player saves from September working on these new patches?

    I haven't played the game in over six months and I have a bunch of saves from then. I had them backed up on an external after I got a new hard drive.

    That depends on whether they are from Koala version or Giraffe version.

    Koala version characters are not compatible with Giraffe. Same goes for worlds.

    If they are Giraffe version then, they are compatible.

    I am under the assumption your old characters most likely are from Koala, due to the date you mentioned, but I am a bit fuzzy on that.

    So all in all just be sure they are Giraffe version characters, and planets.

    Note: If Koala, then I am unsure if they will ever get a converter at some point. It was mentioned, but only once and not much has been said on it since...

    Thanks for the quick time.
    So are you saying that I won't have those characters anymore? I mean, I think I put the stuff where it belongs, I just wasn't sure as it didn't show up on the character select thing.
    What about the worlds? I usually only play sandbox games in short bursts across large gaps of time. I just like to come back to where I left off. It isn't that big of a deal, though. I was prepared to start over a few times because of the whole ongoing updates. I made some cool stuff on a few planets and was hoping those universe wipes wouldn't happen anymore.
    Anyway, if the characters are dead, god bless.

    It has been mentioned by a dev that "they might do a converter" and he put extra emphasis on the might, the point being that even the devs seems unsure if they will do one or not.

    They are definitely Koala version.

    Well, I am kinda bummed about that... Eh, fresh starts and all that. Thanks for your time.

    Aw shucks, thanks for going above and beyond. I've come to terms about the loss, but what's the fun in just looking at the same old buildings? Building them is what makes it fun!
