Closed Can I get a non-steam version still?

I have already purchased the game via steam, but was wondering if there was anyway I could get a version not tied to steam? Is that even possible now? If I can get a non-steam version, I will gladly pay if necessary. I would like to divorce myself from steam as much as possible at this point. I spend waaaaay too much money otherwise...

No. If you look up the game on http://humblebundle.com you'll see that DRM-free builds are planned for a later (unspecified) date.

Starbound doesn't use Steam's DRM (or other stuff) so you don't have to launch Steam to run the game. Just browse into the Starbound folder, find the appropriate binary for your system, and launch it manually.
