Can i catch Poptops?

i wanted to know this because im gonna make a bunch of poke ba-ehrm i mean "capture pods" and go on an epic journey to different planets in order to find and catch the rare, deadly and legendary poptop (young version)
yes, i know its a random event and so far i haven't even found a dog i alredy haev a dogu

well idunno but the wiki says they are in the game and that they are a random event, and it sems like they are already in the game because there is also a page about the teentacle comet and that page says that the tentacle comet isn't in the game yet

Even if the Wiki says so it's not certainly true. Actually, I don't trust Starbound wikis at all.

I know Starbound has official and unofficial wikis, but none of them has been useful for me. I tried many times to check where am I supposed to find some crafting items, but all the wikis just say that "You use bolts to make rusty items". Ok, thank you, but you should at least mention that they're not in-game yet! (And if I'm wrong and you actually CAN find bolts somewhere, the wiki fails even worse)

Also, capture pods are quite unlike pokeballs: the player beats up the creature, not another creature (most of the time), and you must harm it before catching it. Also, the only way to retrieve your creature is to kill it or waste a second capture pod.

 

yes indeed , but poke-erhm "capture pods" can only catch small and "baby" creatures, since poptops would be a random event and the ones i want to catch are the young versions i guess they would be catchable, but again i don't know

I am with this. They are a thing but not.
They are not fully implemented. But they exist.
They are but a fractured asset for the moment.
Also if they were a thing I couldn't tell you due to the fact most unique mobs cannot be caught. Po, Penguin, etc.
