Awesome, although it seems very generic, and hard to make 2D pixels, but Its still good. Better than mine! : D
Not actually. But it's all sitting down stairs in my portfolio pad. I haven't really made full use of my Wacom Tablet yet, so I don't have many digital versions yet. I have taken a look at your gallery and some nice artwork Elde. Couldn't tell you an exact number, but from some of the screen shots I have pulled, it looks like a standard character man sprite is around 35 pixels wide by 90 pixels high. Which in comparison to typical sprite based games, is decent sized. That's just speculative though.
Wow. That is terrifyingly awesome. Did some pretty terrible pixel artilations directly over your art, I hope that you approve, though it does not do it justice at all. EDIT: Aw nerts, I forgot the tail eyes. EDIT2: Fixed.
Wow, the concept art is breathtaking, and DoubleDusk, you did a great job doing the pixel art, I nearly wanted to give it a try myself, but now afrer seeing your work, I think I obey. =D
After this, my entry is gunna get pwned (I am about to upload the images, though, so it will get less pwned than it would have before). Yours in submission, SGT
Hey now! I want to see your rendition of it as well! Thanks for the compliment, though my shading is pretty terrible. ^ ^;
Love this rendition of it, but I'm looking for to Red's and the OP's version of it as well. Should be magnificently interesting.
@playtime: oh wow, that's awesome! thanks so much for giving it some pixelly life ^^ i wonder if it would be easier to shade if the creature is bigger.. it does have some very fine parts that might be hard to work with and to everyone, thanks for the kind words ^^ trying to find some time to do this pixelness.. so far it's just taking a little to wrap my head around seeing things in pixel form and learning how to really get the most out of the art style.
Good luck with that, I've been attempting the same thing with my Androbot entry and if you check it out, I don't think it is going too well so far! *lol*... Can't wait to see what you come up with though.
You're welcome! I'm really glad you like it, and I wish you the best of luck adapting to pixelart! To be honest a lot of the process remains the same as with traditional art, it's just getting used to working with such relatively large building blocks (in relation to the size of the image). A couple of links regardless, though I'm sure you'll pick it up. http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/ http://www.derekyu.com/?page_id=229
Pixel art is near impossible for me, since all of the art for my suggestion is done on either a tablet or pencil and paper. But it looks great!
Pixel art is probably the only type of art that most would agree a mouse is best for, given its precision. Personally I use a mouse for all my digital art like some kind of madman.
Waddafug. (The only pixel art in my suggestion is the Laval Skatera sprite and the only digital art is the Spacera, as otherwise it would just be impossible.)
