I wanted to build a little fortress as my first build - the same in Terraria. So I gathered a bunch of stone. 100 blocks! Plenty! Convert all that into bricks, and start building! Buiding the foundations. Building has a very long range! Allows for quick building. Aaaaand the foundations are finished! Now we just need to build the background walls! Time to build! Finishing the first roo- Hang on. Am I really out of blocks? Yes, yes. I AM certainly out of blocks. Why? Because background walls are only placeable with normal blocks. That is really weird! It makes building so expensive! By the time I went to the Beta sector, I had just enough blocks to finish my fortress. In Terraria, you could craft walls in stacks of 4 from a single block and place them instead. It might not be a matter of crafting blocks, but this should be fixed. It discourages building - in a game of building.
In this game, one cobblestone makes 2 bricks, where in terraria 2 cobble makes one brick. In the end you get 4 times more building material for EVERYTHING, not just backwalls
I think the bigger discourage to building is how damn long it takes to get special building blocks, like the ones dungeons and houses are made out of. Why can't we grab a handful of them and 3D print the rest? If I want to build my fortress out of say tomb bricks, I should be able to pay in money for it rather than having to essentially drag the entire tomb with me by hand.
