This mod is a save file edit so it is usable with existing characters. My mod is an asset change so it's usable for all new characters and doesn't have to be changed for each update.

Ah, that clears it up, thanks.

Any updates on my request regarding a wider sandbox?

Ok I reset the player files and did a fresh reinstall of the game to be sure. It worked fine. I played for a few hours and I made this ship.

The newest version has been wider for some time now, unfortunately though, I couldn't do the half height double width like you originally wanted because it exponentially increased the file size as I feared.

    Cheers.

167x82 is the area in which you can build your ship.

This is just a bug with Starbound the game. It happened like, one extra time with this mod for me.

I'm afraid I can't do anything to help OSX users, I only have a Linux Distro and Windows on hand.

So how can I get ship parts from the starter ships to use for my sandbox ship? I am pretty good at design, but making the engines look good is hard with the mats I have access to.

Mod is great, I especially like the drop-in ability that allows me to alter the ship of any of my characters without having to start a new one. It stopped working for since the first wipe though. Re-downloaded the mod, wiped my install, re-downloaded again, waited for the hot-fix (and the maybe wipe) re-downloaded again and still nothing. Every time I replace my shipfile and try to start starbound it gives me an error. Running on an Win7 64bit system. Once I restore the original ship file everything works flawless again.

Anyway, great job and a big thanks to both Rik and Princeofmar5 for their awesome work with both mods.

There is no "engine" part per say, anything outside of the wall tiles and cockpit in standard ships is actually just a flat background image placed behind the tiles to give an illusion of a ship.

Your flames, walls, and everything else tangible is really all there is to the ship in terms of what you can do in the vanilla game

    Sorry.

Could you send me your save files to take a look at them?

Can I make these assets myself and give them to my friends so they can see them when on my ship?

Yes, but only if you give them the file can they see it.

Is it possible to make this an upgrade ship, so I am not replacing my friends starter ships?

I think i found the source of the problem. It was all on my end. When I first started using the mod I never bothered to do backups of my save files, this changed with the last two patches and I left the backup rar files inside the player directory after installing the mod and removed them when restoring the original files.

While backing up the files to send them to you I had both the save files and the backuped version in the same folder and got the exact same error trying to load the game. So now I installed the mod again and moved the backup rar outside the player folder and it works flawlessly again.

yes, just have your dropship.structure point to a different blockset and art file rather than the default file names.

This way it leaves the original files completely intact.

Alright, That's good to hear. I was wondering why your file was still working on my end. :V

Nope, I was doing it perfectly fine.
I got the other mod working however.

OK, so I found a few things out, first of all Starbound does not like stray files in the folder with all the saves, so I have to save a bunch of temporary files elsewhere. (That may be what is causing the unknown errors that are happening) Also I noticed if your ship is to big, the game lags, and may eventually crash upon loading. (I had to use the OpenGL version to size down my ship) Other than that everything seems great.

As for my ship, this baby took 5 hours to build, but it is worth it (ignore the duplicate of my character, I must've missed it as I was trying yo edit out some npcs that I put on my ship):

You people who make awesome ships should make downloads so that other people can feel the awesome. Maybe even make a separate thread.
