A food meter has been confirmed as not being in the game, that doesn't specify the lack of needing food though.. or maybe it's buff food? Also, wow if that is a mob in the fire that means that there are going to be a lot of slightly different fire sprites, changing depending on what's cooking.

 

I don't think it should have a food meter really. I don't think this game is really much of a survival and doesn't need to be. I would like buff food though, like the Bowl of Soup in Terraria. Or something similiar in a way.

 

I concur, I was simply stating that there will not be a food meter, and that that does not necessarily mean there will no food in the game (semantics...) In any case, I think buff food (such as bowls of soup) would be great.

Looking at this picture again I believe they need to work on the backgrounds a bit more. As others have mentioned above, those black planets don't look the best with the aurora behind them. IF those black circles are planets, i think they'll need to create another seperate layer for planets and stuff that would be beyond the atmosphere. As in, it would be in between the stars and the atmosphere. This way, the landscape can be dark while having the planets and other celestial bodies take on the colours of the aurora and other atmospheric effects, like blue-ish or purple-ish hazes and also, if needed, still remain dark. The way it is at the moment, again, if they are planets, it looks like the planets are part of the world they're on.

If you read it again, you'll see I was talking about the planets. If they are planets that is.

No, I'm saying they might look that way because it's night time.

Or, as I stated earlier as well, they could simply be placeholders.

 

Is that an igloo? Wow! That really gives the game such a more since of survival! I like how there's one guy out getting some supplies while the others sit around the campfire waiting for daytime.

You know the guy getting supplies is muttering angry thoughts about how his friends won't even hold the flashlight.

 

Getting supplies? Oh, I suppose that works.. I was thinking he was creepin' up on them. Your idea makes more sense, and is slightly more awesome (teamwork!). I suppose raiding someone else's/defending your own igloo would be fun too.

The vegetation in that first screenshot is nice (increase the brightness in Photoshop or something and look to the right).
