im in both ...some people just didn't like it (which is fine, i didn't for the longest time) the peoples left quickly enough..but i think it just got into arguments and stuff afterwards, which was what really did it

 

well, I can understand people getting a little bent out of shape about it sometimes as we can be quite the zealous group sometimes, but to get into a full blown argument about it just seems silly.

People who use that argument are trolling no exception. Honestly I have yet to see a single hater have a clear, civil, and reasonable argument against the show. (not talking about those who just do not care for the show). ^^

I guess it kinda depends how much pony stuff people were throwing over. Some people do get annoyed by us bronies, which I don't really blame them for, when a lot of what they see from us is the few people spamming pictures or pony memes outside of the fandom. Granted, some people do overreact a lot, but yeah.

I've had people just tell me its not their thing, which i'm completely okay with. but i gave a hater a long list of many many points as to why its not a bad show. his response was to pick a few of them and blanketly dismiss them and even relate it to barney. After that, I gave him a few very detailed reasons also refuting his accusations that it was just like barney and his response this time was "HOLY **** MY EYES, I'M NOT READING THAT" or something like that. at that point i just pointed out his refusal to recognize my points and left him to his ignorance.

 

Yes this is true in some parts. People tend to thing all bronies are like that since that is a large part of their exposure to the brony community. Its sad since this is a misconception and most bronies are just like them for the most part. Every community has its "normal fans" "trolls" "crazies" and such we are no exception. The negative tends to stand out in any group than the positive.

Hahaha that reminds me of a video I found on youtube a few days ago. The person is called "MaskedAntiBronyGuy" (and yes he wears a mask in the video) (guess hes not brave enough to have people see his real face)>.> I listened to his arguments of why its a bad show... honestly... they all hold no water. (he even said something along the lines that the characters are not good, saying like they are all stereotypes jock, nerdy shy (beep) (his words not mine). And his final argument caused me to crack up laughing. He said only fur(beep) and pedos watch the show so we can lure little kids. ...(sigh) lol

 

ahh, that must be the guy i heard about who wears a mask and was saying he was going to go to a con to harass bronies. let him come i say. Either he'll actually learn something about us and learn what we're like, or he'll waste his own money because he went to a con specifically for bronies and tried to harass them. HELLO!!! if he did that, how could he think that we wouldnt band together against that?

and yes, its entirely possible that person was a troll, but my personal rule is give the person a fair chance or two to either see reason or convince you otherwise. If they fail to either accept your reasoning by just ignoring it or fail to convince you because their argument doesnt really hold up, leave them alone.

 

I guess if it's someone who hates the show, they'd be about as convinced as we would be if they told us that we shouldn't watch the show for whatever reason, and yeah, If they're going to be jerks about it then telling them that it is a good show isn't really gonna get anywhere. I think most of the people who who are so loud about their hatred and how all bronies are freaks or gay or whatever aren't really that stupid enough to think that actually is true, they just want to get us riled up.

 

If he does... I pray there are plenty of "true" bronies there who will respond how we are supposed to and show no hostility towards him. ^^ I want to encounter a hater and either convert them or at the very least turn them from hating to at least neutral. I just find it funny when people use the "worst" part of a community/fandom etc as a template for the entire community even though its not true.

well, thats part of being part of any group. just look at catholics for example. How many times have i heard snide remarks about priests or jokes about them?

Tis sad that there are people out there who have nothing better to do than attack people over the net (99.9999% wouldn't try anything in real life as they are likely cowards and hide behind the internet). I have things I don't like but I have better things to do with my time than just find stuff I hate or don't like.... like.... oh I don't know find stuff I DO like. lol If they are the type of person who "likes" being a jerk/hating/trolling to others... I think they have something wrong with them and not us. >.>

 

I love that video. Saberspark is 100% right in that video. The end of that video always tears me up because its so true.
