    I want to start out by saying what I have already heard so many people say about Starbound: Despite being an early Beta, this game already stands on it's own. However, during my playing, I've come up with a few things that I think would improve the experience in various ways. I hope you come with input, and that we can start a discussion about this. I may add more ideas as I continue developing them.

    Here are my ideas so far:

    1. Mechanics
    a) The Star Log - An addition to the matter manipulator and the star map, keeping track of how long you've been playing on each character, what planets you've visited and what monsters you've encountered. The possibility to track your progress is really missing in this game. I find myself writing in a text document parallel to playing the game, and I'd wish it was integrated into the game to take notes. With the Star Log could come the ability to name planets once you've visited them and save their coordinates (and being able to send the coordinates straight to the navigation system), to name monsters once they've been scanned with the matter manipulator (this would add your chosen name above the monsters whenever you see them), and to make notes about both the planets and monsters.

    b) Sector Ore Progression - As it is now, there might not be a reason to leave the first sector, since all of the ores are already available. I'd like to see the higher tier ores to only become available in progression of the sectors. This would be an incentive to explore all the sectors, because you wouldn't be able to improve your gear until you do.

    2. Visual
    a) More Options in Character Creation - It would be great to see new options and colors available in the Char Creation. I find myself altering the hairstyle files in the assets to get the character I want, and although it's fine for me, it'd be nice to have more choices from the get go.

    Already implemented. How much titanium ore have you found in the first sector? I'm going to guess the answer is not very much!

    True, it's implemented to some extent, but diamonds are available in alpha sector.
