Boss Ideas

huh, i never knew that existed. havent played final fantasy at all. (well maybe a little, but that was on the ds and i never finished it)

 

*random ideas*
-5 toys driven by little gremlins that combine with each in various ways to upgrade their power (a jab at the Power Rangers and their zords)
-Space Truckers and their Space Big Rigs
-The Dept of Galactic Bureaucracy

A giant fridge monster. You grab pizza, fridge grabs you.
*looks down*
Or a chair boss that attacks you if you sit on it.
*looks forwards*
Or even a computer that somehow gained self-awareness.

Inspiration can come from anywhere, they say.

 

In all seriousness, I find snake/tentacle bosses to be quite fun. Like in Skyward Sword, where tentacles rose from beneath you and you had to cut them the right way. That was good. Maybe a boss where you have to take out it's tendril-type things first to defeat it?

 

Yours is much more evil looking.

 

Ah the innocence of children. Last time I drew a picture with my nephew a simple truck became Optimus Prime Dinosaur Ben 10......who had a red racing car. It's the kind of imagination we lose so easily as we get older

 

That monster attached two loving families to his arms and used their homes as his feet. Innocence? I think not! That child is evil (just kidding Seb)

 

JUNK BOSS! I love junk bosses, they are so much fun and extremely eerie.

 

SOmething like that, which strikes the ground and made shockwaves, and shoots lasers too.
and rockets.




Or steampunk robots.

 

A huge mechanized jumping Spider, piloted by a space penguin. It will have a jump attack, and if it successfully lands on you it will orient itself to root you to the ground with a blast from its abdomen. This leaves the boss open to attacks on its exposed abdomen from any other players, which will interrupt the process. When you get the boss to three quarters health the first two legs are destroyed, and it reorients itself so that two of the middle legs open up to become whirling blades making melee combat against it an unwise idea. It will shoot a string of web that will pull you toward the blades if it catches you. After being brought down to half health the blades are destroyed. After that boosters deploy from the cephalothorax, the remaining four appendages lower themselves to space out equally along the abdomen and fire various projectiles, a net of web to root you, a freezing projectile to slow you, a plasma beam that ignites you when you're hit, and a poisonous dart cannon. Each of the arms can be individually dispatched and would often get in the way of your ability to shoot the boss as it flies around the screen. I sort of imagine it would be bottom heavy and pendulous, swinging wide any time it tried to come to a stop after horizontal movement. When the boss robot is out of health the Space Penguin ejects, in an egg-shaped escape pod. When the pod lands the penguin steps out, imbibes a vial of glowing liquid, and grows to four times its original size. At this point it has a damaging melee flipper attack, and a charge attack that stuns anyone it hits, but cannot be interrupted after it begins so if you successfully dodge the charge it will continue until it hits a wall or runs a certain distance.

I'm a terrible artist, so I cannot provide any images to accompany this idea.

 

I would like to see something with a sort of "puzzle" theme to it.

Something that forces you to do a specific sequence in order to "stun" and thus can be damaged. Maybe some sort of super computer or "Motherbrain"-ish thing that involves hacking it's defenses by completing the puzzle?

Not entirely sure how to explain what I want exactly. xD

Maybe my sablur can be a boss? A huge sphere with a spinning blade that it throws.

 

Reminds me of playing OoT and hitting Ganon's energy ball thingy back at him.
I think it was called dead man's volley or something.

 

Yeah, I would love to see something like this in Starbound.

Well i figured if there are big flowers in the game there need to be big ass Bugs aswell.
Don't have a name for it yet but that can be easly added
and it can be a bit bigger if needed just gave an example.

Well let me tell you somthing about it.

Its an Ancient Creature that all Florans fear
as its been exterminating the Floran Tribes for Ages,spreading death and chaos.
It will be to you to stop this Ancient One.

It spits acid
It spawns "workers " when its hit or from time to time.
It lays eggs so that centerpedes can hache and so it has ground units aswell. (can feed on croops an get health back)

so what do you think guys?
