What is up with the bosses.
I'd like (and I'm sure that many others would also like) some clarification on just what exactly the significance of these bosses are.
You go from penguin UFO, to robot that YOU built, to skeleton dragon, etc.
    Why
    This doesn't make any sense
You go from trying to contact other ships for help straight to trying to construct a robot that wants to jump your bones.
and then to luring a dragon that is literally bones.
I can only assume that these are "filler" or test bosses, and that the full release will have some more coherent and themed battles
but I've got to know for sure.

Why would you even put a skeletal dragon in a sci-fi game with only a tiny bit of magic? At least make it... A cybernetic dragon maybe? And its hitbox is terribad. It's hard to hit him at first.

Hope it's just a placeholder for a better boss. UFO was kind of fun, so was the robot, but the latter keeps getting stuck in literally everything. Flammenwerfer spam is lots-o-fun tho.

Sci-fi = science fiction, not science fantasy you know :p

I have a dream with these.

I imagine all sector alpha with some kind of penguin telecommunication stations, in there you fight penguins and some of the stuff to make you beacon to summon the boss. (And after boss battle maybe the beacon can summon the boss or summon a friendly ship :) )

In sector Beta, maybe you find robots in the planets which left some of the components for the robot, but the brain extractor you have to find in a full robot theme planet, which actually is a giant dungeon where you can find the brain extractor. (I would like more uses for this weapon too).

The next sector, instead of crafting a lady ( WTF? ) you could find in a medieval glich town.

And of course in every sector the NPC sometimes talk about their problems with the penguins, the robots or this crazy dragon-lovers...

Also I kind of feel boring the mechanic of:
1)craft expensive summon thing with NORMAL materials.
    2) summon and kill the boss
3)Boss drop something you can use for upgrade anvil/crafting table
4)In new anvil/crafting table you make the chip for traveling next sector.
    5)Start over again.

But I really think this is because is Beta testing, and in final game will be a lot different.

UFO boss might not even be the first boss you fight at release. There are no corresponding quests for these bosses, so we really can't assume anything quite yet. Though I agree that the dragon boss doesn't make sense, I'm guessing that it's the boss that GeorgeV dislikes or perhaps was the one made within five hours before beta release.

    Sci-fi =/= sci-fantasy, hence the undead dragon.

You're nitpicking. There are plenty of other things that don't make "sense", but I don't think this game was ever going for ultra realistic cohesion. The significance is easily recognizable by what happens after killing said bosses. You reach the next tier.

If you problem is with the bosses themselves making sense storyline-wise, you're gonna have a bad time.

Dont forget that the story and quests after tier 1 arent in yet. Maybe there is a lot of lore for that

If they keep the dragon, I wonder what kind of backstory would be behind him.

I don't remember Starbound being described as science fantasy, because really it is more sci-fi than fantasy, and the person you quoted clearly said and meant science fiction.

No sense there can be, as story mode is not included into beta. That's a sandbox without any story, deal with it.

Terraria = fantasy with a bit of tech and sci-fi here and there (space gun, laser rifle etc), but Starbound is MEANT to be sci-fi. It's not like fantasy would ruin it (Glitch!), but the dragon just seems a bit too senseless.
Beta tho, so I'm okay with that.

After all this talk about Starbound not having magic it would be funny if the backstory was "it's a dragon who used black magic to put his soul into a phylactery to re-animate himself after death."

I'm pretty sure that the developers said somewhere that it would be more fantasy than sci-fi.

Why are you talking like some clarification is a lot to ask? This isn't even close to nitpicking, this is a huge part of the game.
Plot cohesion is not something that should be asked for at all anyways. It doesn't matter if the game isn't "ultra realistic" because I couldn't give a shit about that.
I don't care if the game has these bosses in it but they obviously shouldn't be main storyline driven quest bosses.
The story bosses should make sense, follow a theme or something.

Irora: This really isn't the place to post your videos.
