I don't know if you guys know yet, but BoneHammers, at least the one I have, is amazingly better at destroying blocks/mining that are in dirt and snow and weak materials such as these. Have Fun with your Bone Hammer Bashing!

 

True! It's loads of fun, just be careful around your stashes in your ship or base. If you accidentally use it in there the explosions breaks your chests

 

I remember when I had a character with a bonehammer... That thing was awesome.
I kinda dislike the weapons breaking blocks though, because my least favorite thing ever is when you're using an awesome weapon (like a bonehammer) in a dungeon and you smash all the platforms and waste a space in your inventory with something you are never going to use. I especially hate it when you only break ONE and you have one in your inventory just taking up space.

 

Just wait until you're inside your house or ship and accidentally swing it, destroying all of your furniture and chests full of items.

And although it might work better than lets say a copper pickaxe, it doesn't have squat on platinum+ quality pickaxes or drills.

 

I got so lucky pre-patch on my character. I found a Bone Hammer very early on and it made everything so much easier. No such luck this time.
