Bone Hammer, Star Cleaver, Slave Sword, etc

Has anyone gotten one of these recently? Or have one now? I have a theory that they were taken out inconspicuously. Everyone I ask on starbound servers say they haven't seen one lately or they are too rare to be traded for. Out of all the weapons in this category Water Sword is the only one you can spawn without getting a perfectly generic item. Now, I'm pretty familiar with how to write items because I have made many custom weapons for myself, but the character I want the Bone Hammer on is a no mod character. Anyways, I took a look at the .generatedsword file and maybe it's just because it's a generated sword but that doesn't look functional to me with the current patch.. This isn't a real big issue so I won't go into it anymore, but I would like to know if they are still obtainable before I waste another 2 days going from planet to planet on a wild goose chase.

If the answer is yes they still exist, and someone has one or many then assuming you are shying away from /admin and /spawnitem commands I have many legendaries to trade that were obtained legitimately.

With the Glad Giraffe update, yes. Alongside a ton of other "unique" randomly generated weapons like Floran needlers and Apex tesla staves.

    Why?

Because the Glad Giraffe update was a total overhaul of the way weapons worked, and getting each of them to work took a while, so Chucklefish worked on getting the most weapons done before the update and was not able to upgrade everything at once. The next update is implementing a bunch of cool new weapons, though, and I have seen no official word on when they plan on upgrading these "removed" weapons, but I assume it will be done with or before the "polish" update (which is after the upcoming Cheerful Giraffe/"story" update).

That's unfortunate. Guess I could revive them myself though

There's no way CF could upgrade the Bonehammer to make it worthwhile with how god-awful the hammers are. It was perfect with the instant swing and projectiles. If they made a broadsword version that shot out projectiles on a normal swing and something fancier for the right-click, then I could be persuaded to use the thing.

Honestly, all they need to do for the cool weapons is make the Left mouse do the regular attack, and RMB do the special attack. An easily modded change, too.

Interestingly, in Nightly the legendary weapons appear to have been brought back with their old properties intact, but with some additional changes. I've found the Water Sword on the ocean floor of an Ocean world, and it still works as it used to with no change to projectile properties, though it does now inflict 'Wet' on enemies hit with the blade itself and the bubble damage seems to scale to the weapon's base damage and not the modified damage value.

I've also found that... Termite-spawning legendary hammer on an Arid world and that works just like it used to too. Complete with old hammer mechanics (Which means they have insane DPS compared to 'normal' hammers.) No special abilities on either outside of the weapon's projectile properties and I haven't found any other 'legends' yet, but I'm hopeful more will turn up as I go along.

Granted, this being Nightly there's no guarantee that these weapons will retain their current mechanics, but at least with the Bonehammer I hope so because that thing was balanced around the concept of being able to fire constantly.

Bonehammer is never going to stack up to its previous incarnation.

    It was a gamebreaking weapon.
