The idea of a blueprint is to make mass changes to your town. Workforce can be hired to do the labor so it can be faster and more efficient, instead of manually (this is optional). Blueprints can be edited by making previews of towns and villages by customizing them before physically building them, so materials would not be wasted. It is basically just a plan or preview of work before you start building large structures. It would be very efficient if wanting to build mega-cities and structures without having to tear them down after mistakes like bad planning, forgetting to clear the land and uneven landscape are made. Blueprints can also be sent/traded online to friends to help your fellow architects build their cities. Oh yeah this is a rough idea, please tell me what you think, even though i have no idea if this is already planned or if it will not make it in game. Thank you for your time.

You know I actually really like the idea of saving buildings and stuff, would be cool to keep a record of your masterpieces at the very least. I certainly like the idea of a legion of slaves workers building stuff for me although that's because i'm lazy. Also we need slaves. And slave robots... and robot slaves.
Goodness Gracious this is a fantastic Idea. Every planet I go to I would just hire some builders to build me a home base. Or bring my builders along.... or my builder robots!
I don't mean to offend you, but such idea is not now and you should probably try and use search next time. I think it would be better to up the old thread to be seen by everyone, than creating a new one with the same exact idea.
I think the way that Starbound being a game where if you want to build something new, with a new theme you can just travel to another planet. Unlike minecraft or Terraria where you would have to make a new game save. Thus keeping all your amazing builds in one handy game-save.
Hey, i read your post but I don't understand what your trying to say. You don't like the idea or....? Please explain and rephrase. Thanks
http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/blue-prints.7026/ http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/blueprints-a-different-idea-not-mine.20905/ That is what I was trying to say - please do not make same threads over and over again.
Good idea. Now would we be drawing out our blueprints on some in-game paper document, Or we could have some sort of preview build tool? It would work like the regular build tool only that it would just build a faded version(not really there) that wouldn't use the materials right away. We could then fill up some chests with what we need and our "workers" would do the building for us(sort of). The tool could have a save&paste option for easier building/sharing. And don't sweat the duplicate threads. Honest mistake that some people blow way out of proportion.
This seems like an interesting idea and fits well with some of the other posts about NPC crews I've seen... you have my upvote, but I'm going to stress that this should be for a future release/patch. As I see it, it will require a completely new and separate UI, which would be cool. I'm also not sure how much faster this will be unless you have a LOT of workers and want to build the same thing over and over since you'll likely still have to build your blueprint little by little...
Ikr. I keep getting it like spam. We cant search through all threads to see if ideas are suggested. Like just let i be bro. And what you suggested is great. If i was on mass buildermode (like making a server) i would use your first idea, and the preview mode for smaller projects.
I was thinking of a similar idea, probably there would be a holographic projector item you can get which makes a transparent blueprint (maybe blue tinted) appear in the game world so you can build directly over it.
