Hey, were you playing on a Multiplayer server? If so, it may be connection issues. On the other hand, if you're playing alone on your own server, then try closing unessecary programs or programs that take up a lot of CPU usage, or restarting the game if issues persist. Also some dungeons and building spawns with many mobs can make the game lag as well.

Hey , first of all thanks for you answer.
So im playing alone I never got open programs . ( just Skype and steam )
I tried to restard the game several times it dont fix it.
The weird thing is its just that the Blocks / Enemys are lagging, im walking normal without laggs, i think its very weird and annoying. :c

I find even single player Starbound extremely laggy.
When I open a similar steam game, terraria, I experience NO lag, the terrain isn't full off holes you fall into and get stuck into.
In Starbound it becomes so laggy that not only I but also the mobs lag.
Similar games, same pc...same steam...Starbound has memory management problems.

my game is also lagging in the same way, but only after the newest update on 12/15. all the enemies and blocks are all laggy and weird. this wasn't happening to me ever before. i only play single player so this isn't a server issue.

I have posted a forum most similar to this but it didn't show up? Anyways, I have experienced extreme lag from blocks and monsters alike. Could it be because of this new update? I haven't witnessed this yesterday or the day before? Other than that it needs to be fixed pronto because it's frustrating to kill an enemy that lags like nuts.

Also in the lag crowd, only after this new update.

Confirming a lag issue here, present since the last patch. No frame rate drops, local game, definitely not related to system specs.

Had lag all the way through, not just since the last patch. Though only in highly populated areas like towns or certain USMC dungeons.

Same here. Lag on some mobs and some blocks. Framerate is great, but its like they are moving in slow motion around me. Only happened since last patch.

As I like to call them "Matrix" mobs. This is a serious issue. Going for that melee swing or gunshot and they "dodge" it. Fun stuff.

I take it back, I am getting a lot of mouse lag from the game now, which is making the game unplayable.

That's not a fix, it's a work-around. Some people need the pure-SDL version for compatibility with overlays, amongst other things, but it is an option.

I know you probably just used to search feature, which is awesome, but you're responding to a more than month old thread expecting it to be related.

Your lag is most likely due to what was posted in the changelog. "hot fixing an issue that caused stutters for people on low end computers. Also making the unpacker safer to use. Patch soon" - Tiy

so now my computer is the problem? nahh dotn think so since i'm running bf3 in maxed out settings running asus z87 pro with an intel core i7-4770k processor and corsai vengeance 16gb ddr3 2133 mhz so i dont think its my computer that is the problem mate

No, your computer isn't the problem, hence the incoming patch.

  19. Listen up M8, your rig is awesome, but the game is unoptimized, you can run crysis 3 and BF4 or whatever because those games are optimized, where as SB is not. Will it run like butter later down the road, yes, right now? no.

p.s. 16GB of ram is retarded and not a single game out there uses 16GB of ram, I'm using 2GB of ram on my pentium D 9400GT rig and the game runs perfect for me.
