I would like a type of block that pulls, or pushes you away if you are in it's radius.

Do you know those magnet orb things from Super Meat Boy? That's what they are going to be like.

You can find these blocks on Human and Apex dungeons, namely technological labs or just technological buildings.

Once you put it down, it will start emitting a red, pulsing orb around it that pulls you towards the block. Hitting it with a wrench which I am sure is going to be added to the game changes it's mode and it will start pushing you away and will emit a blue orb instead.

It also works on animals and NPCs!

It would open up tons of possibilities for adventure maps and secret bases. Or just having silly fun.

    Thank you for reading!

That would kinda suck to put it down and not be able to remove it since it will just push you away from it everytime you want to get to it... doncha tink? ;)

Oh right... so then you cant get the shoes off the ground?
    Also Dont magnets attract eachother?
That would get you stuck to the magnet block anyway.
Alternatively the opposite sides would push you away from it.
    GAH SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND!

No but really im just kidding its just a game!
    Well, not JUST a game...

well if the magnet boots are stronger than the magnet block, it wouldn't matter if one was pos. or neg.

this could be used as a good defense system in night
the only problem is that you need magnet boots to get out of your base/house/hideout
or just need to put some wires and link it to a computer.

Oh my god, this gives me an idea! These blocks would be perfectly for some jump'n run dungeons or for certain "saferooms" you have to pass before entering a base. Think of a room where a little laser scans your equip and inventory and then, using the magnetic power, pulls everything dangerous out of your inventory to store it somewhere in that room (guns, swords, tools everything that could be magnetic or be used to damage things inside the lab)

And when you leave you get them back if you enter that room again :)

Using this method would allow safe basebuilding at online servers (along with a wall-protection item, for example a shield generator, to prevent players from mining their way through the walls of your base) and would bring a lot of atmosphere to the game!

    Okay, Wow! Them suggestions xD
So some super advanced way to wire up the magnets to strip the items from the player, and transport it into a chest that can only be accessed by the Stripped player,
And shield generators that also generate in a specific patterns (So that if your base is bigger than the field, you can keep a few holes in it).

I started thinking a little more about that idea and ended up with this http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/keycards-baseprotection-and-more.60375/

My idea of better baseprotection involving mentioned magnet blocks :iswydt:
