I tought of using the space station to fire some humongous laser and scorch everything in its way... I can even imagine turning an ever green forest into a blazing hot scorched desert. :sparta:

Definitly have blocks flying everywhere, but have a relative strength scale to decide what is destroyed/splattered.

this would be somehow easy to programm i think... but this also means that every block is affected by gravity.
    AWSOME idea BTW

    I appreciate all the feedback.
Putting that and a couple other things in the original post now.

Yay! What about planetary wars, where a flleet of spaceships invades some planet personal space, and starts a war with the defending planet? That would be awesome!

Well, I just got carried away, it seems. Never mind, the idea is good anyway!

Maybe is too much, but what about one planet colliding another?

You can never get carried away in a game such as Starbound. That, would be the greatest thing ever. Perhaps you could blow up a star(how, I do not know. But it would be so fantastic.), which would cause all the planets in the system to die, and the event could have a random chance to cause two planets to collide? Not sure. But maybe we should create a thread with all these suggestions. They may be a bit far-fetched, but if they do get implemented, by god I would be so happy.

Absolutely. In fact, if we were to help construct each other's ideas from things that would be cool in-game to things that are completely feasible and immensly fun in-game, perhaps the devs will take notice and include them! Go ahead and copy-paste the paragraph I made and remove/edit any parts as necessary, I will link your thread so people can see your idea as well.

  13. Hmm... I wonder if gravitational waves would factor in this?

If you were in a system with two rotating neutron stars, would they displace your starship blocks?

Perhaps I should create a new thread entitles "Block displacement" and add all the ideas in this one, considering all the feedback I'm getting.

  15. Would it be redundant?

You could edit the OP and ask a mod to change the title

I could? Thanks, I'll do that.

  17. Ooh, you just gave me another idea for the "mod" arsenal

I thought a bit more and here I go:

First of all, you could craft a laser cannon from a blueprint (see threads about) to be equipped in the space station, and then craft these three item listed below:

1 - A controller that would send a signal to the station get the laser ready.
2 - A trigger to activate the precision laser.
3 - Another trigger to activate the slightly bigger one.

    How would that work?
step 1: you activate the laser controller, and a regressive counter or a bar appears, showing you how many time do you have to wait 'til using the lasers.
step 2: when the station is ready, you put one trigger in the left hand, and the other in the right hand. Then you would point where do you wanna use the precision laser (or the papa one :giggle: ), and click, then a delay happens, meaning the time the laser crosses the atmosphere, and then the laser falls at your screen with astounding speed to the ground. Then you can control where the laser is going, never forgetting the delay. And if you're using the Hulk one :mwahaha: , you just need to keep the cursor still and clicked, and run in the opposite direction, leaving a trail of destruction and death behind. :sparta:

Obs: The lasers got kind of a heat meter, just to keep players from using them eternally. The precision one would heat very slowly, and the colossus one :geek: would be medium or medium-fast to heat. This heat meter could appear on the screen.
Besides, when you finish using the lasers, depending on how much did you used them, would have a proportional cool down. This cool down could appear on the screen also. The cool down speed could also be fast for the precision one, and slow, to the harmless one.

What about missiles, they will still be great over long distances that will be seen in space combat, and are harder to just absorb with a solar panel.

Also, sound wave pulse cannons, which vibrates buildings at low frequencies displacing the blocks in a wave pattern vertically.

Third, Grav-wave deployers. They pull the blocks to the deployer at a greater speed the closer they are to the deployer.

Going to add this soon. Thanks for the ideas!
