Block Displacement and more!

What I suggest here are simple concepts, I checked the list of announced game information, and they did not appear to be in there, so here I go. Block Displacement, SPESH LAYZAHS, and more to come!
    Block Displacement
    How it would work:
Let's say you're in your dropship, which happens to be large enough to hold some kind of exoskeleton/walker. You jump out of said dropship(in your walker/exoskeleton, obviously), slamming into the ground and launching nearby blocks into the air. If the fall is high enough, it may damage or even destroy the walker/exoskeleton, so naturally you would not want to jump from very high unless there was something preventing gratuitous fall damage. The higher the fall, the more displacement. Obviously there would have to be some sort of limitation, i.e. a maximum of 3 blocks down/5 blocks wide displacement, or something like that, lest you break the physics and fall alllll the way down to the core or something. The same concept goes for water. Let's say you drop your walker into a small body of water(small enough that you were not completely submerged), and FWOOSH! Liquid flies everywhere, sending a small shower of whatever you landed in flying in all directions.

Possible use of orbital weapons to destroy planets(or sections of them)
    How it would work:
Casimir VanKrieg brought this up, and I think it's a fantastic idea. If I recall, orbital weapons are going to be in-game already, so why not use them for terraforming(or nothing but destruction)? This could work two ways: A floating station(that you could access while on the planet, though this doesn't make it orbital. perhaps these could be used for precision striking?) with mini-superlazor attached that could fire down on the planet below. Perhaps you could fly the station! Or the more obvious option: Gigantic space laser that levels large areas of a planet at a time.
    Also from Casimir VanKrieg:
"First of all, you could craft a laser cannon from a blueprint (see threads about) to be equipped in the space station, and then craft these three item listed below:

1 - A controller that would send a signal to the station get the laser ready.
2 - A trigger to activate the precision laser.
3 - Another trigger to activate the slightly bigger one.

    How would that work?
step 1: you activate the laser controller, and a regressive counter or a bar appears, showing you how many time do you have to wait 'til using the lasers.
step 2: when the station is ready, you put one trigger in the left hand, and the other in the right hand. Then you would point where do you wanna use the precision laser (or the papa one :giggle: ), and click, then a delay happens, meaning the time the laser crosses the atmosphere, and then the laser falls at your screen with astounding speed to the ground. Then you can control where the laser is going, never forgetting the delay. And if you're using the Hulk one :mwahaha: , you just need to keep the cursor still and clicked, and run in the opposite direction, leaving a trail of destruction and death behind. :sparta:

Obs: The lasers got kind of a heat meter, just to keep players from using them eternally. The precision one would heat very slowly, and the colossus one :geek: would be medium or medium-fast to heat. This heat meter could appear on the screen.
Besides, when you finish using the lasers, depending on how much did you used them, would have a proportional cool down. This cool down could appear on the screen also. The cool down speed could also be fast for the precision one, and slow, to the harmless one.
   "

I love this idea because i would be able to go skymining. As in plummeting 5000 blocks wearing no clothes and making a big hole and taking the items after i respawn

See this is why it might be bad. I think that certain blocks would have a certain connective strength, in other words it's hard to break a gooey material then, for instance wood. I also think that smaller things such as a body should
just go splat and not make a difference. Beside- wait is that a hydralisk-- BURN BABY BURN! *Fires daul flamethrowers*

I appreciate the feedback, and I agree with you, TTCBuilder. Slamming into some superstrong material would likely result in becoming a (formerly) sentient pancake.

Breaking glass would be fun though or through cloth blocks...

Definitely if i slammed into diamond id be a splat doing no surface damage, but if i hit a wooden house i might break the roof. And........ GET ur OP marines away from me you Terran scum before my baneling and zergling army devours you!

That would make for some epic PvP arrivals. Just some battle going on in a building and then *BWOOOSHHHHHH*! A player slams through the roof, killing one of the players. The player then draws his epic twin techno-dirks, and then stabs the other player to death.

Agreed. But they should make it so that player can interact with each-other as in a falling player can damage a standing player by falling on him

That would probably count as some kind of fall damage, like how sand damages people in Terraria, but with another player, and much higher damage.

  10. It would be so epic to have a mech interrupt a PvP battle, destroy the tower the people are fighting over, and promptly slaughter everyone.

Catapults would also be a low-tech use for this mechanic :)

I didn't think of that. That would be brilliant, planet-wide wars, siege engines everywhere.

  12. I just thought of the game Planetary Annihiliation.

Imagine -- asteroid strikes on your foes, blasting a chunk of their puny home planet off into space. ^.^

You could also have some kind of block that acts as a weight which breaks blocks when it hits the ground...
