Blinking/Teleporting Monsters?

I've had to deal with this on two planets already. I got into X Sector a while back and one of the first planets I found had a bunch of surly red munchkins that kept blinking behind me and ganking me. That was a few weeks ago, and only yesterday, I found ANOTHER planet with monsters that teleported.
Now the strange thing is... the two species of blinking mobs looked very similar despite being systems apart... They had the "short biped" body type, and their heads were squarish, with a snarling mouth and a strange bubbling vat on top of their heads.
Has anyone else encountered blinking monsters? What are your thoughts on them?

 

I encountered those on occasion. Then I switched to openGL mode. They spontaneously lost their magic powers.

 

Yes, I've seen them and I hate them. They're quite rare in all actuality, mostly because they have to be short bipeds with the weird thing on their heads.

It's a bit of a surprise to see a creature with a special ability, considering how that apparently isn't implemented yet.

 

I kinda like them. they add a bit more of achallenge in the fighting gameplay. Unless they are mini bosses. In that case curse them.

 

Yep, I also found the same types of monster. Their heads look like they're carrying a bubbling liquid in their noggin. Kinda creepy actually.

I think they do damage if they actually teleport through you. Quite annoying.
