Biggest WTF WAS THAT! Moment

That happens in stock game too, by the way. I found a slime biome under an ocean planet, and it has poisons. I seal that place up and get the hell out of there as fast as I could.

 

Inside the monsters IS where the fish live.

 

I encountered a monster with the Orb of Zot attack.

I really don't want to encounter a monster with the Orb of Zot attack ever again. Red bolts. Everywhere.

The Imperial Makeover attack is hilarious though. Deals crap damage, but stuns you for a moment and makes you glow and sparkle for a while.

 

It easily becomes one of the worst possible attacks to encounter if you're using weaker armor, however. Once they stun you, they have every opportunity to just attack you and obliterate your poor, helpless face.

 

I found a tiny little monster that when I got close enough turned around and shot me with a DARK GRAVITY BUBBLE.

 

That's some sort of trick. The cute or tiny ones are often no happy little campers but mean SOBs.

Mine was finding the Glitch Spiders for the first time. I was digging a hellevator to get some gold on the planet next to my home world when I saw this Glitch treasure chamber with tweo Royal Chests and Royal Candles. The room was infested with them. Good thing I had seen a video about them and what they could do. So I played it safe and hit them through the wall with my Bone Axe. That weapon is proving to be quite useful.

And up to this point, every micro-dungeon I had encountered was uninhabited.

 

That was always the case. And conversely, there were some mean-looking critters that I hesitated to get closer to, but turned out to be very passive and just minded their own business. Those I tend to leave well enough alone.

 

for me it was beaming down on a desert planet with a new char to get oil for steel and immediatly being killed by a group of 3 or four spawncamping bandits :-D

i should really go visit them again now that i have durasteel equipment

 

this is an old thing that happened to me but when i first encountered giant meteorites.
had just finished building a base to have one come smack down right in the center and destroy most of it.
i think i actually stopped playing for a few days over that incident.

 

So true and somehow that's pretty funny (funny ha ha).

 

Probably when I fell into the boss battle at the Ercius mining facility. I didn't expect a boss at all, let alone one that shot plasma at you!

 

Speaking of bosses, the first time I fought Shockhopper he one-shotted me the moment I came in the room.

 

May I ask what a dead planet is? I haven't came across one yet

 

Their top-tier planet's, kinda a mixture of barren and arid planet's, you also need a heat skin to survive them

 

Also, not as dead as you might expect. Lots of hostile alien monsters that want to eat your face.

 

When I realized that the OP is named Charles Darwin, and that Apex may have evolved from Humans.

 

For some reason I thught that said "Charles Darwin evolved from Humans." I don't know why, but it cracked me up.

 

When I was exploring the surface of a planet at a enormous ass asteroid comes flying towards me and takes down like three trees. The thing was huge, it had a radius of 3 Novakids. And yes Novakids are acceptable as units of measurement.

 

That depends, is it three Novakids standing upright, or three Novakids laying down on the ground?
