Biggest WTF WAS THAT! Moment

I have recently started playing Starbound, and I have seen a lot of WTF moments so far but what was your biggest? Mine for example was when I was mining and saw a green thing with like 20 eyes. Leave yours in the comments!

 

When I was exploring then was sniped by aviens for no reason.

 

Those eyeball biomes, man. They can make a man think.

 

This isn't really a WTF moment, but more of a "I'm glad I caught that for YouTube later" moment.

I was tossing a cart to my friend so he could heal and it landed in the poison pool through a small crack in the dirt bridge we'd built.

 

me and a pal had been attacking a human dungeon(the jail thing)

we where both low on health and decided to block ourselves in to eat some bandages...i missed a block and an npc jumped on top of our dirt cube and one shotted us with a handgun, finding that ONE missing piece in the cube.

 

Mine would have to be mining in this one big sandy chamber. I was just digging, and all of a sudden the whole floor collapses in an avalanche of sand. I plummet for a while, and land doing around 95 or so damage. At first I think I'll make it, then I hear the roar of a beast in the darkness. Next thing I know, I'm back on the ship.

 

exploring a avian tomb and I saw that avian holding a snipe rifle down stair.
I built a wall with a hole so I can shot him. After I hit him, he jumps up and one shot sniped me from that one block hole. what a sniper...

 

Was exploring a Floran thing in the ground (not sure if a jail or what) and was doing fine destroying things. I then put up a torch just in time to see a guard with a sniper rifle one shot me when i had all but 1 bar of health. I hate snipers.

 

Haha, my moment was like that, too. Just digging around as usual, and didn't think twice about whacking a piece of sand. I didn't expect it to collapse the way it did. Felt as if I was falling for an eternity. I landed in water, however, do I didn't die. It was fun when I was caving with a friend and caused a sand collapse over him. Took him forever to dig himself out, as every swing of the pick caused more sand to come tumbling down around him.

 

These are all very amusing keep them coming!

 

Here i was on my starter planet, doing the quest chain. Get the the part with the beacon, and i rush it, not knowing what will happen. Little did i realize that was the sector boss. Needless to say, he yelled at me

I found a sewer. At the top was an outhouse (which you can apparently store things in; I dunno who would store things in an outhouse...), and then I went down a ladder, and there were rusty, filth-covered pipes, nasty-looking walls, and the floor was made of sewage blocks. There were giant flies, metal spiders, and poop monsters in there, as well as a few septic tanks and other sewage-related decorations.

Out of curiosity, I had to explore the whole thing, and the devs didn't even have the decency to reward me with any sort of treasure, joke treasure or otherwise. I left that place, and any time I go back to that planet will be too soon.

 

Once upon a time, I was exploring, and I came across a cultist/bandit house. I killed the one blocking my way in and proceeded to enter the house. The house itself was fairly nice. I spotted some wood platforms, most likely leading to a basement. On my way down, I imagined what I might find - a dungeon, a stash, or maybe even a secret tomb. What I found was a little sewer-like room with a chest and a Po. There was also a bit of poo on the floor. wtf (I did collect all the poo though- never know when you wanna build a poop house)
Also, once I was strolling along a new planet, and I found a monster with a head that was - put simply - disturbing. And by disturbing I don't mean scary - I mean disgusting. If you've seen one, you know what I'm talking about.

Once, I was digging down and got a fair distance underground when I spotted a pocket of lava. Inside was a stone object that I could hardly detect. Thinking "It's an Avian tomb!" I try to dig some water close to it so I can flood out the chamber. Just before I break open the wall I notice that I can interact with it. I hover over the item, press E...

... and I sleep, on the bed, in the middle of lava.

The minds get inside your mind.

 

When I first found an underground flesh biome. Also when I dug through the lava at the bottom (well, I guess center) of a planet by placing dirt blocks down into the lava and then digging them up and I ended up being stuck in an infinite fall at the very bottom. Oddly enough sometimes when I placed the dirt blocks there'd be ores in them.

 

I've had something similar happen, but not lava. I clicked it, got ported to it then promptly shot by 2 guys with guns that I never even saw because I hadn't lit the area up enough...I thought it was a chest

 

For me, it would have to be those creepy little houses I found on my starting planet.

 

I was in an abandoned Apex lab and I was in that room with the danger signs and the lava pits. Little did I know that the lava was not held back by reinforced steel like I had previously thought, but glass. Glass that breaks extremely easy when hit with a bone hammer. I melted pretty quickly. :/
