The teleporter sprites are kinda mmmeehhh. I would like to see some more sci-fi oriented teleporters.

bewildered: i'm confused as to how a device that memorizes the quantum state of your atomic structure, disassembled you, then instantaneously sends both the matter and the quantum state across however far it is to flawlessly restore your matter to it's former composition is not "sci-fi" enough for you. can you elaborate?

Scientific, executive, and that other one look very sci-fi.

I think what we need is just more styles altogether. The only ones that look remotely good right now are Executive, wooden, and scientific.

    more styles would be:
    plant
    military
makeshift (wooden with lots of wires everywhere
    shoji
    medieval

When creating a colony that has a particular look I would like to have more options (styles) of teleporters to fit in with the theme of the colony. More options that are along the lines of the Executive and Scientific teleporters is what I would like to see.

Personally I wish teleporties were just a blue rug on the ground like what your ship has, it'd be easier to decorate and place them.

I actually really like this idea. I would even like to have different color variations. So that the blue (red, yellow, orange, purple, pink green, etc.) glow a little bit. This could probably be an easy mod. Switch out the current teleporter sprites with the simpler one.

plant-- how would that even work? a plant with the power to teleport my pixels across space? not that i dont want a plant teleporter, i think that would be cool.

    medieval-- *COUGH* stone *COUGH*

Same way the bugs in Starship Troopers can shoot projectiles into outter space from their butts.

    k. but those are not plants, and they also are not converting a person into PIXELS, THEN shooting them to ANOTHER plant teleporter ,SOLAR SYSTEMS away, which then takes those pixels and REASSEMBLES them into a person again
I think there may be a SLIGHT difference between your analogy and my question ;)

If you get so highly specific, then yes, nothing is related to anything.

If you look at it in a more broad sense, it does work out. Plants and bugs are organic matter. A bug shooting an energy projectile capable of breaking orbit is not that far of a cry from a plant being able to materialize matter.

Plus, It's really not that far of a stretch to go from accepting sentiant plants to plant based technology.

Plant = just plants growing on it, not made out of plants and using plant-based technology.
    Medieval =/= Stone Gargoyle

I was just thinking portable teleporters that cost way more than the larger ones, allows you to teleport to the surface of the planet or to a nearby town/beam to your ship without needing to be on the surface.

Really any of those functions for a portable teleporter would be great.

Expensive and needs fuel or has limited uses.

Energy can be collected from plants with a certain type of fusion, at least on earth, so it's not impossible, plus for sci-fi we could say they have some kind of neural net or use their internal "wiring" to send signals or some such.

As for stone, I don't know, not impossible to slip some wires between them though.

Yet all of those features, incredibly useful for end game or well-doing mid game.

You misunderstand, by "*COUGH* stone *COUGH*" I meant that the game ALREADY has a medieval looking teleporter, the Stone one.

Why switch when you can just add new ones? I would love to have booth current teleporters and added "rug" ones. The more items you have the more things you can build.

Fungus connect different plants together, allowing different plants to transfer minerals and information between each other.

    Mushrooms invented the internet.

    Plants are weird.
