Posted this on Reddit already but figured I should post it here as well and include a little bit of an explanation.

I, along with many others, have a pretty annoying issue to deal with when creating new species. In the default character creation screen there is only enough room for the current 6 species. In order to add more, you have to manually place icons for species, which can easily end in conflicts. My suggestion is to make the species selection a scroll box. I did a quick mockup, using the crafting screen as a base. I'm not sure how much work this would be for the devs, but we really need something like this:

I approve, and have another character creation suggestion!

I use Colorbound, which is amazing and I hope they add it to the official game, but scrolling through all those colors takes FOREVER. It would also be nice if instead of scrolling through colors, you could click the name of what you want to change (shirt, body, hair, etc) and a side color wheel or something comes up so you can click instead of scrolling. It could be to the left of your current design.

This is a good idea. Starbound is a very comunity centered game, and mods are a big part of it. I think that chucklefish should do everything they can to make things easy for modders.

Yea i agree with scrolling through colors. I actually had a different mock up in mind at first, which had the customization options as "tabs" basically. The idea was that when you click on one, say hair color, the scroll box switches to that customization option listing every single option, similar to how the crafting menu is with filtering item types. I didn't share that one cause I got lazy and never finished it lol.
