Beta sector - how to progress?

I have full steel armor, the iron weapon and as far as I know, this is the best I can get in the alpha sector. I beat the UFO boss and so forth.

Now I'm in beta sector, the mobs are insanely hard to kill and the only way I can upgrade is if I have steel. I can't get steel if i can't survive in beta so wtf do you do?

Full copper armor set, just made my distress beacon, and just learned I can go to another world. Planning to load up on some coal and make a weapon, then head on to a lvl 5 snow planet.

 

Okay gotchya. So how the heck do you find gold ore to upgrade into the scouts armor then?

It was agonizing enough finding silver and i have very minimal platinum and gold...

 

gold spawns in much larger quantity's in higher level planets, platinum idk i think its bugged i haven't seen a single piece in the ground in hours and it dosnt seem like im the only one either

 

I would totally tell you not to do that, because I did and it sucked hardcore ass until I found an Avian crypt guarded by Avian guards in regalia, you gotta have camp fire way points and it's got hardly any trees, but is conquerable!

 

If you are looking for gold, I'd recommend finding a planet with a mid to deep soft layer where you have seen gold before. Stay in that layer and dig around horizontally, for me that seemed to be fairly fast

 

I can say for certain that planets between 11 and 20 don't have any gold, plat, or diamonds. I have minded from surface to magma on over 20 planets in that range and have found 0 ore of gold plat or diamond. i have been mining for 2 days now with no results.

 

Okay, silly question. Finally unlocked beta and was wondering how to actually create the steel alloy. do you need iron bars + coal, or iron ore + coal? Where to combine them?

I've made the entire steel set, and steel weapons... How do I move onto platinum-titanium? Someone in one of these forums claimed they've seen titanium on the 21-30 planets, but on a 21 (the lowest of gamma) every single thing had the ability to one-shot me.
Also... Has anyone else had trouble finding guns? The only ones I've found were from an Avian pirate airship vendor (which were terrible).

 

I've found gold ore on a TL 15 jungle biome planet. I haveyet to find naturally spawning Plat or Diamonds on anything from TL 1-20, after 36 hours of gameplay. Will try more tomorrow night after work.

Did not work out well. No fuel, ran outta wood for torches and campfires. I did not think this through.

 

its more like 26-30 and ya nothing you can do about the one shoting, either get a weapon high enough that you can one shot em first or dig and avoid monsters at all cost

 

I dug. Went after titanium and turned it into durasteel gear. I'm sitting at Impervium now, and if I'm lucky, the enemies only hit me for 76/100 damage... I don't get lucky often, considering how often I get 1 shotted anyways.

 

How to I get to Gamma Sector? How do I summon the Beta sector boss?

 

First boss is "Distress Beacon" for the ufo.
Second boss is crafted from the robot parts, then activate the robot and kill it.
Third boss summoned with a crafted item (something about a princess decoy, forgot the specific name.

 

How are you supposed to get thousands of pixels when every single monster 1 shots you?!
You cant make anything without pixels!
