I dont quite understand what you mean about this.
When I was seeing release date for this year it was never it is going to release this year. More or less it was could or cannot.

 

i dont normally post in these forums as im generally more of a 'lurker'

i have a few concerns regarding release...if they could be considered concerns at all

as of now im saddened by the lack of a beta (yes unfortunately im one of those people that believe a beta should have already been out for a while - you can blame that minecon for that ;P)
however - if a beta were to be released say tomorrow i would still be saddened due to the fact that it isn't a full 'release' so to speak - i cant help but feeling like ive been conned with every single day that goes by and theres an update that doesn't mention something regarding beta or the like.

but i find with all these threads demanding a beta, im starting to feel like more and more i hope they don't release a beta at all but in its stead a nice more complete product that they would consider a 'release' version of it...seems kind of backwards i know - i am by no means dissatisfied with my purchase and can't wait to play but...some of these underground rumors floating around about the crew conducting some kind of satanic ritual involving where they sold there souls to 'SONY' in order to hold out on production and release with one of there game consoles kind of has me concerned [would definitely like some reassurance that this hasn't happened via my email or forum mail messenger thingy plz sum1 from the staff i know you guys are super busy with everything so you can get back to me whenever is at your convenience] (and i hope this isn't the case for all the redundant 'beta release takes longer than expected' retorts from the staff - and if it is that's there business)

i cant really tell you guys keep up the good work b/c i haven't seen your work in person -i've seen vids of gameplay but i cant go on a judgement call like that unless i actually play (not trying to sound like i want to play it RIE NOWZ or anything)
but im just hoping that whenever they release the game or decide to do it - i just hope you guys do a good job and make a great game...

 

Meh, personally i think chuckle-fish should just take the stance as blizzard, never give any kind of release dates, and instead say " its done when its done" and " its ready, when its ready".

if ever making a giving directions one could word it loosely "indicating might say 2013, however such is in no way confirming at this date, and may very well be way off."

but honestly folks relax, we aint dying anytime soon ( i hope, no offense to anyone that is), give the devs time to make a good game, slow and steady wins the race as they say.

I think chucklefish would like to do this, but they just can't afford to do so, Blizz has endless streams of millions to haul in, Chucklefish does not. They have to release the game in a certain time span, or they will lose backers for their next project.
People wont be as easy going next time to pledge any amount of money to them, if all they get in return is "It's done, when it's done".
We (the people who pledged money) are like investors, and you want to keep those relatively happy incase you need em for a new project.

 

Yeah, but all those daily updates, twitter, streams takes TIME. Time that could be spent on coding the damn thing.

 

And then you lot burn the site down screaming "WAR IS MAH DAILY UPDATEEEHHH"

 

If lack of updates or very rare one, like once per month (and very brief) would mean that game would be finished in few weeks, I have absolutely no objection against it.

 

So you are saying they shouldn't play-test while showing us something.
I saw Tiy coding while he was messing with stuff on a stream.
Do you think the dev's have to code 24/7?
They are not robots they are people and even people need breaks. I know it is surprising that people have lives welcome to the real world.

 

You know, typing a few paragraphs doesn't compare to any actual technical and actual progress done in the development because the updates, twitter and streams, when they actually feel like doing some, are just report comprised of a fragment of the actual progress done by the devs.

Let's face it, I don't think many people would be all that hyped up on the forums if the devs told us exactly and in depth the details of their daily progress through the development of the game. To me, it would kind of ruin the whole anticipation the game has right now among its fans and my anticipation and expectations are very low because this game will be great no matter what. I don't wanna be disappointed by a game I thought would be chiseled after my tastes.

Disagree. Look at Blizzard now. Most people consider them a has-been company on it's way to death, living off only it's name and making crap products all the way.

Also on that other bit, we are all dying one day at a time. Anyone who refutes this needs help. Beta isn't out and we are on the 10th month of the year that full release was *promised* to be out. I'm not whining, if there isn't beta soon I'll just get my money back. If enough people do this one day we might see Beta released that very day because honestly the game is in beta condition now. There are less complete games being released in 'beta state' all over Steam Greenlight.

 

assuming there's any faith to be placed in the devs, the game -will- be out in two and a half months or less. it's kind of surreal to think we're that close.

I hope the beta comes out before Christmas because i got the game as a before Christmas present and i would like to help out by tell the devs about bugs

 

If they end up not being totally sure anymore that they can't release beta this year (with only 84ish days left in the year and no word on a date I'm not too confident anymore), then I hope they tell us and soon. I'd rather know for sure now than have what little hope I have left torment me until dec 31st hits and we end up betaless.

 

I just registered to post this (been lurking for a long time):

I REALLY want to pre-order this game, but after having pre-ordered more than a few games in "beta" in the past, I'm wary of games without set release dates, or without set beta dates. This game looks like it will be FREAKING AMAZING, but at the same time, Minerwars 2081 did as well (and we know how that turned out). Same with The War Z (which thankfully I never pre-ordered). But it was an "indie" game that looked like it would be a huge upgrade over Day Z, then turned out to just be a cash-grab.

I'm not saying this is going to be just a cash-grab, but the fact that they avoid talking about the release date SO MUCH is what worries me, especially since it says 2013 for it's release date. There's only about 84 days left in the year, and for them to do a beta and full release in that time would be crazy.
