Is anyone else having optimization issues? I've got an average FPS of around 10. My computer isn't anything special, but a GTX 560 should get some kind of decent framerate in a sprite-based game.

It's barely playable at the moment. I sincerely hope they plan to optimize more.

EDIT: I found a good fix posted on the forums to run the launcher and Starbound.exe as administrator. Surprisingly worked wonders. Thanks, Kajir.

 

Anyway to store pixels so not to loose that much when dying?

 

i can barely run this version of the beta, even at the lowest resolution and maxim zoom my fps are very low, any advice?

I'm currently playing as a Glitch who is supposed to have white eyes But I've noticed that every now and again the eyes flicker from white to red for a split second and then back again, it's rather disturbing and scary

 

Need editable controls. dont like the ones in use now. can't really play it like this. also, menu needs to be able to select and slide the slider-bar.

 

How in the world do you delete a character? Gamemode I guess isn't set up yet. hmmmm Mainly curious of how to delete a character atm.

II: Money Storage or No Money Loss or No Pixels is Recipes (Which ticked me off)

Just reached the bottom of the Magma sea. My Apex is now trapped there in an infinite fall before i stopped the game. (building down with wet dirt )

Now i only need a way to weaponize it....

Luckily, the game brings you back on the ship when you quit.

 

How do I see my hunger bar when I want to? I'm not always looking at the bottom of my screen when the game decides to make it show up.

Does food only drop when I use ranged, and only pixels when I use a melee weapon? That would force players into a playstyle they might not want to use just to get a material they absolutely need. I don't really like that.

Are the enemies on the first planet supposed to hit so hard? I'm taking upwards of 40 damage per hit from enemies I can't avoid because I need their meat or I'm gonna starve to death. I'm trying to get ore for armor, but enemies spawn so frequently...

Can I replant trees? I feel like I have to venture too far just to find another tree.

Can I rebind my keys? I don't really like the defaults.

Is there a way to store my pixels so I don't lose a bunch every time I die? It's honestly a bit tough early on, and I feel like I'm making no progress on saving pixels.

Hey so the beta did come out today at 10AM correct? Because I did not revive a beta key even though I per-ordered it. Is it just taking some time or is there something i have to do first?
I have looked at my email all over and can not seem to find it.

Edit: It has worked.

 

I got no follow-up quest on defeating the UFO. We killled it 2 times and no reaction or quest entry. all quest are finished, no quest failed. we´ve been playing on a multiplayer server. 3 ppl party
