Important BETA RELEASE DISCUSSION - DECEMBER 4TH (*ALL* beta discussion goes here. Other threads deleted)

Hey guys... will the beta be released through steam only ?
Or... will we need to download it through Playstarbound.com ?

 

I think HumbleBundle changed their policy on distributing steam keys. In fact, I think they will provide only a button to put the game directly into your library instead of you having to go through the whole key-activation process. At least that's how they handled the previous HumbleBundle sales.

 

From what I've read, at first it's only going to be on steam through Early Access as it's far more convenient for the developers to do that than upload a stand-alone. However I reckon they'd be working on that as quickly as physically possible.

You guys, I'm pretty excited. By the time I get back from my work/interview today, the beta should be ready. I hope everyone's got enough bandwidth to handle all the pre-orders jumping on the download link or sending the keys or however this is going to work.

What's up with Steam and 10am PST? What ever happened to midnight, like most self respecting retailers? Starbound will be released on December 4 1/2th?

The whole business has thoroughly confused me by this point.

So many changes and people saying different things about distribution. Ah well, we'll find out soon how it works.

Because some people were buying keys for almost free and selling them for greater profit. So, they changed the thing.

In france it's 13h30 (+1h00GMT), and maaaan, i need to leave my house at 19h00(+1h00GMT) (Wich means at 10h00 PST) ! DAMN YOU CRUEL TIME !

 

110pm in Eastern Australia atm.. should probably go to sleep so I can get up and play at the 5am release time.

 

It`ll be 21:00 in Russia when I can finally play Starbound. All night, baby!

 

It'll be 19:00 here. (7pm for you people with 12h clocks)
Pretty decent, but I have to wake up at 09:00 the next day for school.

That gives me around 6 hours to play if I want at least 8 hours of sleep.
I'll probably, most definitely, surely won't sleep 8 hours at all haha.

LET'S GO ALL NIGHTER

 

It will be 1300 here when the beta releases. So I'll get an email on my phone with the code, then I'll have to wait six and a half blasted hours before I can play it (stupid work and stupid stupid travel times (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻)

 

Any thoughts on this?
