It's a beta, I have been waiting for quite a while. I'm still hyped after a couple months of waiting, I honestly would not care about the bugs in such an early stage. That's what a beta is about really, testing the game for glitches/bugs etc.

 

Same here, a beta is supposed to have some bugs and glitches, I've played a beta of a game that had tons of glitches/bugs. I didn't care though because I had waited for two whole years to play it, and it was quite fun. In my opinion, as long as ChuckleFish makes it fun to play, I really wont care about some of the bugs. (Plus a beta's meant for testing and bug fixes)

 

In case you haven't heard the Beta is coming out on the 4th. >~>;;;;

 

I certainly know we're all hyped =) But like I said, everyone says they don't care about bugs...until the fourth reinstall...and the ninth time they've restarted the game...after 8 hours each time. Worse than being frustrating, if all you're doing is the first few hours of the game over and over, you're not doing much useful testing. There's a world of difference between "alpha broken" and "beta broken."

The game looks to be in good shape, though, so I'd wager the delay is purely because of the Steam sale - if you go on Steam right now, you're gonna spend your $10 on Bioshock Infinite, etc. Once this comes to a close, all those cursing their ill-fortune due to having missed the sale will see a shiny new indie game on the front page - a game called Starbound!

 

I'll just be happy to take part in the Beta testing process, to help make the game better for everyone when it's finally released.

 

IT'S HAPPENING

 

Will there be a server program for linux?
Or only for windows servers atm?

 

My understanding is that the game (and therefore servers) should be available in the initial beta on all three computer platforms - Windows, Mac, and Linux. But can someone confirm this with a source?
