Yeah, actually, I think that's why there's no slots available. Apparently steam has a set number of games for sale at a time, and I assume it drops the worst-selling ones from its list. So in a way, I guess this sale is sort of a "last chance" for some of the games about to be kicked off.

 

It's been stated before that the beta will tend to have few/many updates through-out any given day, being as it'll be on steam that's clearly easy to do for them.

What I was wondering though, would there be any sort of change/update-log or whats been done? It'd always be nice to know when and what's been updated with those updates ya'know? Anyone know if such a thing as been stated before by any of the staff, I don't keep up to often with many of them really...

 

I'm going to call bull on this, I've seen your rude behavior on here, including some towards me. It happens, lots of people do it even if it's just a bad day, but don't pretend like you don't do it.

 

Maybe they'll be like Minecraft's secret friday updates, where you never know what's changed. That has some appeal to it as well doesn't it?

 

I have also seen your rude behavior directed towards me. And I'm human so of course I have insulted people before. But on this forum I have respected opinions. And its hard to do that when your facing someone who will degrade you.

Debate is not "arguing". But what I say can be perceived as a insult as you cant see my body language or tone, more so if we have had past "disagreements".

 

Remember how I insulted Terraria (I called it mediocre) and you called me a fanboy and said my post was petty? Then, after a few aggressive and venomous posts from you, you reel back with a manipulative post and pretend like it's just me that "can't talk about this respectfully and with reason" even though you didn't even try to be cool, you were trolling and you replied to me just to stoke a fire and cause an argument or just piss me off - you can look up the posts if you need a refresher. Hence calling you a troll (your "insult"), because...well obvious reasons. You might even recall another member quoting you to tell you to cut down the venom and calm down. You degraded me first - stop manipulating and putting this on me. If you weren't trolling or didn't start off and continue the way you did, it wouldn't have been an issue. Face it, man. You done fucked up.

 

I have nothing against you and I want to keep it this way, I'm simply stating that you have participated in all the recent conflict on this thread so they have some validity.

what? so you mean that steam wont sell some games anymore after this sale??

 

From what I've seen, steam only list 100 games per "genre section" at any given time. So to add something, they have to remove something else. They might still sell the games(I'm not sure) but it seems they at least won't list them in the main category tabs (so unless you search for it you'd never see it)

Nate. I was not the one who used expletives and insults in the first reply. I'm sick of you and Skarn twisting my words and I know you would love to harass me more but find it in yourself to stop. I wont reply to anymore posts if you don't acknowledge what you said.

I would like to add this final statement.

Skarn it sure does make you look better when you talk me down in replies to other people. I don't know why you feel the need to attack me like this but you should stop. Read what my signature says and send what you want there.

 

Man, I hated that! I'll still go on (at painful length) about how I love Minecraft's "Wiki-is-the-new-manual" design, but I really despised turning it into an outright guessing game.*

Minecraft set a standard that I really like, though - manuals have been going away for two decades, and are now a dim memory for gaming as an industry. The fear was that this would lead to a "dumbing-down" of games. Instead, it created better user interfaces, better integrated tutorials, and more clear objectives (play a few 1990's games - you'll be shocked how much time you spend just trying to figure out where to go!)

Minecraft's answer still stands as one of the most brilliant, however, and most people don't even think about the ramifications. Minecraft's unprecedented success was due to its extremely active community. Youtube videos, articles, screenshots, blogs - its online presence was infectious, and now it's an institution of the Internet, an edifice hardly worth discussing simply because it's so omnipresent.

But one of the often overlooked sources of that success, I argue, is the wiki and its necessity. If you even wanted to play Minecraft, you had to go online and look it up. You were actually forced to interact with the Minecraft community just to build even the simplest tools. This means that not only does Minecraft engage your time while you're playing it, it engages you when you're not.

It also sets a wonderful precedent - sure, make your game as accessible as possible. But if your game is a downloaded game, with no physical presence, you can rely perfectly safely on the user's ability to connect to the Internet. If they have your game, you know they have an Internet connection, which means you know that if they have questions, they can look for the answers online. You also know that your prospective customers also have Internet connections, so you know that every single glimpse of your game, every scrap of video, every LP or blog post is valuable, and needs to be nurtured and encouraged rather than callously crushed under the boot-heel of overzealous copyright enforcement.

I did say I wouldn't respond to you making blanket statements about me or others based on unspecified past incidences, but since you're addressing a point I just made:

I see no reason not to advise others to do the same if you're going to act like that. If you really want to be the bigger man, just accept your mistake in starting this whole conversation and walk away. You can't blame me for continuing to address the point when you haven't stopped, despite claiming to only want to talk about beta.

Maybe you're just looking at it the wrong way. I think it was meant to be more like an easter-egg hunt, sort of. There was always the assumption that eventually someone would find it and put it on the wiki so everyone would know, but people could sort of "race" to see who found it first and such. I suppose in a way that made the wiki an even more important part of the game though like you said.

 

Your reason to "advise" others is just to get a jab at me. I know you truly feel you can do no wrong and your always right but can you just stop with all the insults? I don't see any mistakes that I have made other than you starting this conflict with your remarks in the first place.

I have never gone low enough to "Advise" people on others that have argued with me because I like to keep things on topic and good for everyone.

And stop having a double standard.

This time no matter how much you or Nate try getting something out of me I will truly not reply. You can apologize in a PM if you want but I know your not like that. I will have to make a stand at you taking shots at me in conversations with others though. I don't insult you, you don't insult me.
