Demon Souls, Dark Souls (1 and 2), the Assassin's Creed series, Grand Theft Auto, Deus X, the Metal Gear series, Borderlands (1 and 2), Final Fantasy XV, Dishonored, XCom Enemy Unknown (and Enemy Within), Batman, Diablo 3 and most of Nintendo's games. I could go on, but I guess I already made my point. Also, I'm afraid Jonesy and his evil mod's army will come and scold us for going off-topic too much

You've opened a massive can of worms anyway, so it's probably best for your own sanity that you don't just jump in and start swimming around in them. When people generalise about "types" of games (and worse, judge others for liking stuff), that's when it's time to back out and flee as fast as you can.

Diablo 3 is a great hack&slash RPG that served as inspiration for most - if not all - games of the same genre that came after it. It had that stupid auction house, sure, but it's gone now, so

Incorrect. Diablo created (tabletop to video game) the genre and Diablo 2 set the standard. Diablo 3 is the little brother of the series, it lacks the greatness of the other two.

That is a VERY large mistake for someone in the industry......that is like crashing a plane if you were a pilot.

 

Dude, Diablo 3 sucked. Diablo 2 set the standard for hack and slash RPGs, building off the first Diablo's concept and improving it tenfold. Diablo 3, on the other hand, is outclassed by not one but by two other games that came out at around the same time of the same genre (Path of Exile & Torchlight 2).
