    That? That.. is scary.

Which ties into my response to TuefelHundenIV. People just don't forget things in business. Things could go really poorly come next time they have another preorder for a published game or their own work. Its true we can't know a hundred percent.. but just look at this.. look at how vindictive people can be and tell me you don't see it as at least possible to be wary with their money from delays.

I see it as probable if not assured. Once bitten, twice shy and all. Which people will talk about that shyness and talk others out of it. It's why reputation is important.. more so since this is their star game so to speak. It'll be the impression left in peoples minds more then any other, including what happened during development.

Nobody is forcing you to be here or post here. Don't go off topic though, complaining about a thread that is being used as requested by the mods. They want the discussion here, and I'm sure developers peek in from time to time.

  6. Harass members? What are you talking about?
So apparently you think that pointing out and correcting on someones grammar is a bad thing? I always appreciate when someone does that to me because I can learn something new that way, especially when it comes to English since it's not my native language either.

But as far as this forum is concerned the language which is being used in here is English and English only, period.

    1. "Bad luck" I guess.
    2. Eh, it's not that big + it's a direct post, not a quote or anything.

Whoa, really? Are you serious right now? Christ... I don't even know what to say, if everything I've already said in this post doesn't explain it then I have no idea what will =|

    Censored? Biased?
The only thing I censor (Yes, I'm talking about myself and by censor I mean deletion etc) is pointless spam and rage-filled posts often containing massive amounts of bad words and things like that, other than that you're free to state your opinion about the game/community no matter what it is BUT in a polite way.
I would be more than happy to delete your post and not only yours but "stupidity" and "butt-hurt" is not an enough reason to take any action anyway, hate me or love me for this.

Apparently a forum moderator is a human being too and it's just not possible to see EVERY action on the forum, you would be surprised how much a bunch of mods can miss even when there's a lot of them online.

I think the issue here is that there is plenty of bad grammar in this thread and so far this is the only post I've seen corrected by a moderator. Actually I think its the only one I've seen the entire time I've been here that has been corrected by a moderator as such, and it does come across as offensive when someone corrects your grammar online. It is almost never done in good faith.

Doesn't come across as very professional, I think you should've just gone with "I'm sorry you feel that way." You've made no argument here, do you have a point here? Because it seems to me that you want to sound as though you are legitimately shocked by what you perceive to be stupidity on his part.

Then he's clearly not talking about you.

Thats fine and all but it seems to me that Darklight is always pretty inflammatory and he doesn't have his posts called out like the individual in question here, and Darklight is far more prolific, to claim that no moderator has ever seen his posts would be nothing short of a fallacy.

if by inflamatory you mean bluntly disagreeing with people who already start aggressively then yes. Still I've been working on that and have decided that instead of replying, I'll just report every single one I see. Also I have received a warning in the past so kindly take off the tin foil cap. It looks silly on you.

I don't think it's fair to lump sum all the Dev's like that, and to be fair the Mods as well. I'm fairly certain that a thread, like this one, gets looked at by someone on a daily basis. However, whether something in that thread is acted upon or not is a different story. I'm willing to bet that plenty of posts have been "Flagged" and "Reported" that forces a Mod to come in here and take a look at what's going on.
So to assume that it's not being looked at is an unfairly just and biased comment, just because we don't see them actively engaged in the conversation or 'moderating' the thread. Frankly, I think that by not posting in this thread they are saving themselves. Can you imagine what a thread full of "neigh-sayers" would do if a Mod got involved in the conversation? What the Mod says would then instantly be perceived as having been said by a CF Team Member. That would be a lot worse than by moderating this thread from a distance.

As far as my previous post goes, I understand that the Dev's may or may not see my post. But the fact that other Non-CF Forum Posters see it and think that it speaks wisdom is better than it being lost. So Thank-You for thinking that it is a worthwhile post. You just proved that the post itself was heard, and thus did not fall on Deaf Ears. If we, those upset with CF, stopped bickering at each other over petty things (such as the technical definition of a single word) and collectively brought forth a single post that is demanding, influential, & constructive... perhaps then we might see some changes in the way the Dev's and the Mods both perceived us and our standing points, but maybe even listened to some of the things we say.

    Just a thought....

I'm still on the fence about whether or not the case is a load of shit, because there have been multiple accounts of people having played the beta and saying it was in fact close to a public release of some sort.

really darkhog? are you going on the devs twitter just to bother them? that's just childish.

This has been done once before. We (The "nay-sayers") had an 89 page thread get locked, unlocked, relocked, unlocked, locked, stickied, and then deleted (for unknown reasons). The thread was, for probably 60 out of those 89 pages, nothing but constructive discussion that resulted in 16 questions. Those questions were perceived as questions that would, if answered, benefit the community.

Here are the answers we received from Omnipotent Entity in a .txt file. As a precautionary word, Omni is mainly a coder. As he states, his word is neither final nor absolutely correct and should be taken with a grain of salt. Seeing as how these answers were received months ago, answers to questions have likely changed by now.

A fair number of us are very constructive. An even larger number yet is considerably more civil than many other dissenting groups. The bickering is to be expected. Where there are disagreements, people will argue.

Seriously though Darkhog, don't be abrasive about it. If you want to complain, do it civilly and in a constructive manner. It'll help things far more than being an asshat.

I believe Molly reposted that article in this thread.

but doesn't that just prove that they, the Devs, took those questions serious enough to have someone answer them? Can it also not be said that time has probably changed a couple of those answers? Should we just be satisfied with just that, or should we continue to strive for more answers?
Clearly, the disgruntled are so, for one reason or another. Could we not make a list of reasons why we are disgruntled? The Devs have atleast shown some moderation in the sense that they care about what their customers think...

I dunno.... I'm out of ideas... I've been trying to write a paper all afternoon, and this thread has been my "I need a break"... but now... I'm all burnt out...

Ah. I didn't know that thread existed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

It does prove both of those things. A concentrated, civil effort will produce results. More answers would indeed be nice, but we'd certainly have to get a list of questions we'd like updated/answered.

    Calris Existential Complex

I meant the second sentence to be a general statement to anyone who might think suing was the answer. I just left off the 'to anyone' bit.
That is what I'm pretty sure is behind a lot of the discontent - a lack of real understanding leading to unwarranted assumptions.

The thread you were talking about was locked when things looked to be getting out of hand, and reopened because of the apparent use of such a thread - justifiably, as it turned out. It was stickied when Omni answered the questions, and then unstickied and removed when the important information (Omni's reply) was stickied elsewhere.

I would say that I'm not overfond of the practice of deleting posts or threads - I'd rather they simply be locked (in the case of threads) or split from the thread and locked (in the case of offensive posts.) Either way ensures that the post/thread doesn't get out of hand while keeping a record of the incident for accountability.

By inflammatory I mean the occasional insult you throw at a person due to their disagreeing with you. Its fine to disagree with someone, but that doesn't extend to ad hominem.

Funnily enough you prove my point with this post. Had you left it this you'd be fine, but then you go on to say this:

This is inflammatory. Implying another forum member suffers a mental disability.

Furthermore, my point is that in this thread you haven't been publicly named and shamed as the other individual was. He had his grammar corrected and a warning, which is all well and good, but the problem lies in that this doesn't seem to happen to anyone else.
